I hope everyone’s having a wonderful Christmas morning full of friends, family, and food. We really enjoyed reading all of your wishlists – in fact, they were so good that we couldn’t possibly pick just one winner. So we figured, what the heck – it’s Christmas, and we added two runner-up prizes of $25 gift certificates each. Those winners are Ashton and Shanna. The grand prize winner of a $100 gift certificate is…. Mandy! Everyone else who entered the contest should check their email soon for a special surprise.
Congratulations to the winners and thank you so much to everyone who entered. ModCloth wouldn’t exist without you guys, and, especially on this joyous morning, we are so grateful. We’ll be taking the next 2 days off, but we’ll be back (hopefully) better than ever. Till then!

Fluffy Fridays are for celebrating the fluffiest cuteness from the world of ModCloth. This means our pets, your pets, and now… lolcats!
We advertise on some of our favorite blogs, and our new favorite advertising spot is I Can Has Cheezburger, where this amazing bit of cuteness was discovered:

Happy Pre-Holiday Friday!

This lovely evening, I’d like to share a find from my favorite Goodwill that was tragically closed a few years ago and turned into a used car dealership. Life has never been quite the same.

This hung in my kitchen for quite a while but recently it’s found a new home in the ModCloth office. I always try to not play favorites, but this is definitely one of my most beloved mushroom pieces.

I promised to tell you more about our fabulous fashion show and party, so without further ado…

The location was the Brillo Box, a favorite hangout of Pittsburgh’s indie scene. The models were wearing some of our cutest Holiday dresses (like the Martini Dress, Emmy Dress, and Cotillion Dress) and the DJs were unstoppable. Best of all, we raised over $400 for the Women’s Center & Shelter of Pittsburgh. I have to admit – it was one of the most fun nights of my life! Thanks to our lovely models, everyone who came out, and to Sari, our Marketing Assistant, for making it happen!

We threw our first ever fashion show followed by our first ever dance party last Saturday, and this shot is from our fabulous pre-party photoshoot. We’re still recovering (and editing pictures) so check back soon for the full story! Great clothes + beautiful people + less-than-sober dancing = a fun time for all! Here’s a teaser…

I love the unexpected, and Awefulsome Tuesday is a day for celebrating just that.
Today’s special item is what we’ve called the Alternator Sweater.

Big sleeves, slightly puffy knit, a cropped shape, and in the biggest color for Fall… it’s so modern but so retro at the same time, don’t you think?

This week, a seasonally appropriate post: a mushroom Christmas ornament!

I have three of these cuties on my tree – they’re souvenirs from a long weekend in Amsterdam during the holidays a few years ago. If you’ve never been, Amsterdam is an incredible city, especially during this time of the year. There are big outdoor markets with hot drinks and the best pastries you have ever had in your life. Seriously. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it.

I spent the day cleaning – dishes, laundry, and (my favorite) puppies! Both of our dogs, Winston and Blue, finally both got a long awaited and much needed bath.

They’re so clean and soft now, I’m having a hard time doing anything but snuggling with them!
