I want to wake up and find that my boyfriend and I have moved into a nice apartment that allows pets so that we can finally get the Boston Terrier we’ve been dreaming about for 2 years.
    Siigh….

What i really want, is a solution to climate change. Everyone needs to make a huge effort to reduce their carbon emissions and there are numerous ways that this can be achieved. The 8% targets for Kyoto and other emissions treaties are simply not enough to stop irreversible climate change and disruption, however people are able to make changes that will help reduce climate change in their every day lives with little impact on their current lives. So at the moment i would love some new sunglasses to shield my newly contact lensed eyes from the harsh (non ozone protected – due to CFC use) New Zealand sun. Lets all do our bit to stop the planet from burning…

Since the contest is for Modcloth items, I’ll tell you what I most wish I had…your Octopus Necklace.

I love octopi. I have the scarf y’all sold with the same octopus on it. I even have an octopus knotwork tattoo. Just one of those weird things people are into.

I’m not particularly deserving, I don’t suppose; I just really like that necklace, but I’m a student, and there’s always something else I need more than a new shiny accessory. But if ModCloth decided to give it to me for the holidays, I’d be happy…and I’d share the gift certificate with my friend Calli, who also loves your site, since I wasn’t able to get her a present this year.

Because you asked what ModCloth items we’d be looking for, there are so many different answers I could have! None the less, I absolutely have a few things at the top of my “Wish List”!

It would be amazing to get a head-to-toe outfit, all from ModCloth! On my feet, I’d start with the Studded Ankle Boots, which I think are an awesome mix of femininity and “punk rock”. I think they’d just go so well with the Bright n’ Skinny pants, too! To top the outfit off (no pun intended!), I LOVE (love!!) the Snip n’ Shear t-shirt. It’s so cute, but fashionable.

Being an accessories gal, I’d love to finish off the outfit with the Twisted Tree Ring. All of these things have been on my Wish List for a long time, and wow…what an awesome holiday it’d be to see those under the tree. :)

I am a huge fan of the 1960′s culture and psychedelic music. When I first saw your Tangerine Dream top, I liked the musical reference and LOOOOOOVED the shirt! Brown and orange are my colours and the top looks like something legitimately travelled through time! 1967 and 2007 meet! Thanks for always having beautiful, mod-inspired clothes, Modcloth! I hope that Santa brings me a splash of the sixties this Christmas!

Of all the items available on ModLife, I’d most like to find the Toadstool Lamp under my tree. I’m fond of mushrooms in part because one of my favourite childhood memories is of gathering edible ones from the woods with my cousin. I recently got a new desk and it’s in need of lighting and decoration, and this lamp would be prefect. Throw in the mushroom desk set and I’d have a perfect woodsy work area.

I would love love LOVE to have your Garden Stroll coat! It’s absolutely beautiful! It reminds me of something Audrey Hepburn would wear in Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Funnyface. I absolutely love the contrast of the red against the patterned black and white!!! I WISH I HAD IT!
Also… I wish there were more shoes my size… I’m a size 5 or 5 1/2 and I love your shoes – I don’t fit in them though. Love and wish to have your London Girl T-Straps or the Kelly Green pumps… gorgeous!
    Happy Holidays!

What delicious things do I want from modcloth?

    1. The mod puffer coat
    2. That long anchor peacoat/dress to come back in my size
    3. A job as a graphic designer of mod cloth (okay, this one is out there, but I just keep getting these mailers and thinking “my god, they need me.”)

  9. Tiffany 12/18/2007 at 5:59 pm #

If I had to choose one thing from the modcloth website, it would be without a doubt the London Girl T-straps in size 7. I am a big fan of heels but my feet are not, so to see such a stylish shoe, with a shorter heel is a dream. Besides the height, I absolutely adore the t-strap as well as the snake skin pattern. Honestly I have studied this shoe and have been asking for it from all manner of people for christmas but it is just a bit too pricey for anyone to have agreed yet. I only discovered modcloth.com a few months ago, but ever since then I have been visiting the website daily, looking for new items, and most of my friends have recieved something from here for Christmas! So thanks for being my new favorite website! (also LOVE the pug mascot)
    Enjoy the holidays

  10. Danielle 12/18/2007 at 6:04 pm #

All I want for Christmas is the Cable Swing Cardigan. There is nothing like cuddling up in a warm sweater on a cold winter night. Without the cute cloths and accessories that the generous, magnanimous, and beautiful people at ModCloth can provide it will be a cold, cold Christmas. It is hard to be me, oh so very hard.

  11. Shanna 12/18/2007 at 6:05 pm #

I have been very, very good this year (Rescuing a kitten! Donating to the needy! Quitting smoking for the umpteenth time!), and I am hoping Santa brings me the Under The Mistletoe Dress. I am pining for it so badly, but this time of year, I just can’t afford to splurge! The dress is a gorgeous ‘50s style, which I adore, and the cut would flatter my curves. Plus, I have always coveted a dress from Stop Staring, but have never been lucky enough to own one. I don’t own a fitting party dress, and this would be the perfect dress to ring in the New Year! You see, my sweet boyfriend is being made to work New Years Eve 200 miles away from me in another city. It breaks my heart, as it’d be our very first New Year’s Eve together, but there’s nothing I can do. So instead, my very best friend (since high school!) is coming into town for the holidays from across the country (she’s in grad school in Kalamazoo, I’m in Austin) and we’re going to have a girls’ night, get all dolled up, take lots of silly, girly photos, and ring in the new year together. The problem is: I have absolutely nothing to wear… Please Santa baby?

    Happy Holidays!

  12. annamarie 12/18/2007 at 6:05 pm #

Most definetly the “under the mistletoe” dress by Stop Staring! I’ve been lusting after Stop Staring’s dress line for years, I promised myself I would finally break down and buy one to wear at my college graduation back in May as my school didn’t require we wear our caps and gowns (art school). However, my practicality got the best of me and I talked myself out of the dress, put my graduation money towards rent & bought a factory-defect clearance rack dress instead from a boutique (ha…)

  13. Florentine 12/18/2007 at 6:06 pm #

Is this for the entries? If not, contact me please :)

The ModCloth items that I most wish for are the Créme Brûlée Dress and the Taxi Cab Heels.
I just want to wear them all the time. Well, they may not match but who cares!! I want to wear them and then the boy of my dreams will realize that I am the right girl for him and not the other girl… I would look to cute and gorgeous that he just has to really fall in love with me or just really regrets that he didn’t pick me… And I would just be standing there in my wonderful dress with my wonderful high heels being happy and looking pretty.

  14. carolyn 12/18/2007 at 6:09 pm #

I’m hoping Santa ( cleverly disguised as USPS) brings my in-transit orders from ModCloth by Xmas eve!..Why? ,,cos I’m a greedy little shopaholic and want to crow with delight when my girlfriends drool over my new stuff! Failing that…your “Cocktails at Lunch” frock is perfect…one please…you don’t need to wrap it! It will go SOOO well with my London Girl T straps (in-transit :P )

  15. Lacey K. 12/18/2007 at 6:10 pm #

    1. Me = Wears warm weather friendly retro dresses everyday
    2. Which = Hard to do in Winter
    3. Winter = Cold
    4. Cold = Can’t wear summer dresses comfortably
    5. Discomfort = Dearly want a winter dress to layer
    6. Want = Mod Cloth’s Soundgirl Tinsel Town Jumper
    7. Soundgirl Jumper = Worthy of dancing around my house excessively Christmas morning

    The End. (Almost)

    Dearest Modcloth,

Please make me dance like an idiot on Christmas morning. It would mean a lot to me and it would surely entertain the family.

    Hearts,
    Lacey

P.S.- Sorry for awkward math up there. :)

I would love to have the Poppy Plissage Top to go with the Jeffrey Campbell Colorblock Heels I purchased a couple of weeks ago. I am in LOVE with these shoes…I’m even wearing them right now! This top would go oh so well with these beautiful shoes. I also wish you had more of the cupcake bathmats!! I have cupcake curtains in my bathroom and it would have been a perfect match.

    Merry Christmas!

    Shawna

ps…I’ll take pics of the ensemble and send them to you..truly I will….

The Mod Cloth Pastry Shop Dress simply makes me drool. It’s the perfect blend of Mary-Kate and Ashley, with a nod to Nylon and a hint of Sienna’s sensibilities. It’s the most coveted item on my Mod Cloth wish list, because it’s stylish without baring too much skin, layer-friendly without the risk of looking like Santa, and would last until early spring, when us New England chicks are still fighting off the blistery winds. I need this dress like I need my morning caffeine fix. In other words, if I don’t get it, I just might look like a zombie.

  19. Lee 12/18/2007 at 6:21 pm #

I *really* *really* want the Anna Karenina coat from ModCloth. I know that it’s currently sold out, but that doesn’t stop it from being fabulous nor me from lusting after it in an unseemly fashion. I think about this coat way more than a person should. I’ve talked to friends, family members, send the link to lots of folks – and the coat is still sold out!!! Get it back, let me know and I’ll buy it, work for you if need be, but I really need that coat!!!

  20. shelby 12/18/2007 at 6:24 pm #

I wish I wasn’t such a compulsive online shopper and would stop spending my money on such amazing cute things on modcloth because I’ve ended up
not having anything to get my sister for christmas!

  21. Sheau 12/18/2007 at 6:25 pm #

With 2007 going away and 2008 right at the corner, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all at ModCloth for bringing unique fashion and accessories to us all out here.

It is always nice to support independent and small business. I was fortunate to come across ModCloth from cuteoverload, a blog that I check everyday.

As far as my wishlist, I really love Tulle’s line of clothing. It has been really cold here in San Jose California. It would be really wonderful for this winter for me to have The High Society Coat. I checked your web site last night and realized that it has been sold out. Very sad news. Hopefully, enough people request it and you will bring it back to the site. I actually bought the Tulle’s black dress-like wool coat couple months ago. I received so many nice comment every time I wear it. People asked me where I got it and I told them to check out ModCloth.com. If you guys have sticker I will definitely put it on my car. : )

Lastly, wishing you all a very happy holiday. Thank you again for keeping the site up and running with so many unique products.

    Warmest,
    Sheau

It would be lovely to wake up in Paris sitting at a corner cafe wearing the Mod cloth “Cotillion Dress” with matching polka dot heels and hearing “La Vie En Rose” playing in the background.

  23. Christine 12/18/2007 at 6:28 pm #

When I wake up on Christmas morning I will be heading off to work for 8 hours but I hope that when I get back from my long dull day of work I will find a package from ModCloth. Opening it slowly I pray to the fashion God’s that I got exactly what I wanted for Christmas this year, something that is both fashionable and functional something that my feet and I have been dreaming about for years. I peel back the paper on the box and open the lid hoping to see the dark blue fabric and shiny silver buckles that can only be found on the Strapping Snow Boots that i gaze at on my computer screen every day. In Ottawa our winter’s are fierce, much like my outfits, and the snow reaches such heights that I feel as if I might as well be climbing Mount Everest in my suede pointy toed “winter” boots. As the snow seeps into my two layers of socks beneath the suede I curse my outstanding fashion sensibility and wait for the bus in the cold hoping that maybe one day I will be able to afford the elusive water-resistant and faux-fur lined Strapping Snow Boots. For now I will put on another layer of socks and hope that the bus comes soon so that my toes don’t get frost bite and that this Christmas I will find the perfect pair of boots underneath my Christmas tree.

I have been drooling over the Mustard is the New Pink shoes for quite a while now. They are so unique and overall kick-ass. The problem is that I have big feet (size 10.5) and it’s nearly impossible to get some nice, special shoes! What’s a gall to do.

I live in Amsterdam, and the closest I can get to “interesting” shoes are the ones in drag queen stores. Other ones are just plain boring or cost $ 250. I can only fantasize about wearing shoes like the super-awsome Mustard is the New Pink, since the are not available in my size, so I will! I’m guessing that in two or three years a size 10.5 will be considered normal and I can go on shoe shopping frenzies.

O, and when Modcloth starts to sell shoes in my size, I will promise that I will rub Modcloth’s feet for an entire week, do Modcloth’s laundry and ironing for a month and bake a heavenly lemon meringue pie. Pretty please? Mustard is the New Pink pretty please?

    Happy holidays to all!

What I want most for Xmas is for the love of my life to forgive for my wrong doings and take me back. Aside from that, the company I work for is folding so I would also like to find a good job so I don’t lose my home. All in all, I still have my health so its not all bad.

P.S. Modcloth’s dresses and Cadillac bag & wallet are pretty rad.

    -Peace

I love this website! I am a beginning crafter and came upon this website from craftster.org. The one thing that I would LOVE to have is the slouchy bow beret. I have learned the craft of knitting (somewhat) but fear that it will take me a month of Sundays to make a hat like that! I think it’s adorable and would glady wear it 365 days if the heat and humidity wasn’t such a killer where I live.

  27. Danielle 12/18/2007 at 7:20 pm #

    Dear ModCloth,

I’ve been stalking this website ever since I found it earlier this year. Every day I go to my bookmarks and click: “ModCloth!

  28. Bonny 12/18/2007 at 7:22 pm #

It’s Christmas morning, and I look under the Christmas tree,
and to my surprise there is a huge box waiting for me!
Breaking my head on what could be the gift,
What was the Elf thinking on his gift wrapping shift?
Is it a computer, a necklace or a tee?
I really didint know, what would it be?
I didnt ask for much this year, I didnt even have a list.
But since I’m looking on Modcloth there is one thing I miss.
Its the Cotillion Dress, blue with white dots.
I will take good care of it, dont let it get eaten by moths!
So I open my package and see oooh God Bless,
its the one and only blue Cotillion 60′s Dress!

ps im from the Netherlands! Love your site!!!!!!!!!

  29. Clare 12/18/2007 at 7:59 pm #

all i want for christmas, is the heatherette pinball hoodie to come back in a large size..and any one of your trench coats. and also your dog. and those cute purple and green flats you used to stock. and the twiggy knit coat. and the cupcake alarm clock. and the neon-antique photo frames!
i mean..all i want for christmas, is you.
but the other things would be nice too.

  30. Megan 12/18/2007 at 8:16 pm #

While I would love everything here, because this place is seriously the most original online store I’ve ever come across and I wish I had ordered that breakfast at tiffanys top sooner I wish I could have had that it was so versitle. I could wear it to work, dinner, the club, or just a normal day out. But if it is something in stock I’ll go with the Modern Audrey Dress, Audrey Hepburn is my icon for my life. She was a classic beauty and I aspire to be her in everything I do. I remember the first time I saw Breakfast at Tiffanys 5 years ago and how it changed me. I saw what real style was and how to apply it to the rules of fashion and she taught me what simple pieces you need in your closet to make a classic look, every woman does need that little black dress because it will make you look like a million bucks and you’ll feel classy, sexy, powerful, and inspired. The Modern Audrey Dress you guys have is such a beautiful piece of art. I look at fashion as art since I discovered Audrey and when I first saw that dress I fell in love with it, I own nothing like that in my closet and no one I know does either and I want to be the envy of every one I know and I know with that dress I can do no wrong anywhere, I can where it wherever and feel like a star. Thats what I’m wishing for this christmas.

  31. Dayle 12/18/2007 at 8:19 pm #

Ok… here are the modcloth things I would want under my tree…

The trojan horse necklace (alas… sold out! why oh why??!)
    Seas of Ice scarf
    Octopus Necklace
    Twisting tree necklace
    Chained up heart necklace
    Cocktails at lunch dress
    Dutch plaid riding coat
    Heatherette fifth ave. coat
    Suzabelle trench
    Eat people top
    chandelier pillowcases
    music lover pillowcases

I know, right? Short order. I’m trying to save this year… :0

Hey, don’t deny a girl her fashionista dreams (especially if they can be had on a NIFTY pillowcase!)

    A boyfriend.

  35. Jem 12/18/2007 at 9:16 pm #

I would love anything and everything panda related because our zoo in Australia is getting pandas in two years! This makes me happier than anything else I’ve ever heard – but I have to wait two years! I’m sure salt and pepper shakers or a panda wallet can fill the void.

..ohh now i’m pining for pandas, what a bad idea this was.

  36. Nessa 12/18/2007 at 9:21 pm #

Wow! You’re carrying Supayana’s stuff now! I’ve loved her clothes for years but have never been able to afford them. I’d have to say I’d want the Supayana All Day Brunch Dress if I could have anything. I’d most likely team it up with the Elephant Ankle Boots (I’ve been on a grey kick lately), the Suzabelle Trench Coat (more grey), and the Metallic Strap belt in navy (if it matched the bib on the dress properly). I’d also like the Old Time Pocket Watch Necklace, I know it doesn’t match the aforementioned outfit, but it’s too cool not to warrant a mention here. I’m so glad you’ve teamed up with Supayana though, she’s one of the most talented designers I’ve ever seen and it’s been a long time dream of mine to own one of her creations. One of these days!

  37. Brianne 12/18/2007 at 9:23 pm #

All I want for Christmas is for you guys to carry plus size clothes. Either that or worldpeace. I’ll take either.

  38. Rebecca 12/18/2007 at 9:32 pm #

This is the sad story of two items that I want but can’t have! A few months ago, I really wanted the French Pastry Heels, But they would just a little too small, I found, when I measured my feet!
I also adore the new Stop Staring! dress, Cocktails at Lunch. It’s so gorgeous. I’ve loved every Stop Staring! dress that ModCloth has sold, but that one in particular is a dream. Of course, being a university student I don’t have $144 to spend on a dress, but if I did!!

  39. Kerri-Ann 12/18/2007 at 10:13 pm #

For chrsitmas I wish for world peace. I know it sounds difficult, but if everyone could cast their distances aside and act morally this could be acomplished.

  40. katy 12/18/2007 at 11:46 pm #

size 4.5 shoes. any style that arent children’s shoes (i already have too many). which is nearly impossible to find or afford.

  41. Brandi 12/19/2007 at 12:20 am #

i hope to get $100 gift certificate because i just love this website and there is one specific item i love. i wish to buy the twisting tree necklace or ring because my boyfriend and i actually met under a tree like that and it will be our anniversary next month and i’d love to show it to him and it would mean so much to me and my boyfriend, so i hope this is “inspiring” you to choose me.
    -inlove.

  42. Pauline 12/19/2007 at 1:08 am #

My boyfriend is in the army so I haven’t seen him for about 5 months. He will be coming back for christmas for about 2 weeks before he leaves again and I would love to have an outfit worthy of his return party. I was browsing around and the “Flowers At Dusk Dress” seems like the perfect dress for the occasion!

  43. Holly 12/19/2007 at 1:36 am #

Hi. I have always loved Modcloth and it’s particular style but I never really have the money to buy anything. If there is a chance to get free stuff I REALLY want it! The items I would ask for would be….
    1. Supayana Brunch All Day Dress
    2. Fall Pigments Eyeshadow Set
    3. Neon Glitter Eyeshadow Set
    4. Kitty Kisslock Bag
    5. Grey Thermal Leggings

yes yes these would make nice gifts!! I really need the Kitty Kisslock Bag for my older sister. I can never get her anything that compares to what she buys me, but I really think I have a chance!

SO for the love of sister rival hood LET ME WIN!!!
    Pick me.

  44. Emelia 12/19/2007 at 5:25 am #

What I really want is a wider variety of sizing. 9.5 size shoes and dress and coats with bigger busts. If I can’t have that, then, I want the Dream of Hearts Sweater, the Rainbow Heart Scarf, the Abstract Hearts Top, the Heart Print Rain Coat, or the Sweet Heart Headband. Yes I am obsessed (I even have a heart tattoo). So you know if I do win, it will go towards the good and noble cause of funding that obsession.

    Keep up the good work!!!

The ModCloth item I want most for Christmas is not for me – it’s actually for a dog. You see, I recently moved to France, and one of the saddest things for me here is not being able to have a dog (well, not for the moment, anyway). But there are a lot of people here with dogs, and as such I get to do a lot of dog-watching. And there is this pug that lives down the street and he is the most glorious creature ever. He’s hilariously fat, and his tongue is always hanging halfway out of his mouth, and he’s wall-eyed, and I think he’s probably pretty old. But nonetheless he always has this goofy happy expression on his little squishy pug face like there’s nothing in the world better than being out with his person, taking a walk. I see him almost every day and I swear there are few things that make me happier than seeing this ridiculous little guy waddling and huffing and puffing down the street.
So, when I saw the little stuffed Fat Cell, I thought that the only thing that might make Mr. Squishy (I call him that because I don’t know his name) any better is if I knew that he also had a little toy that was shaped like a fat cell – a fat cell with googly eyes, at that. I don’t know if his person would take well to me giving his dog a stuffed biological object, but I would try nonetheless.
And that’s what I want for Christmas. To see Mr. Squishy with his brand new Fat Cell.
    Merry Christmas, all!

What I really want (or need actually. Ha-ha. Let me explain…) is that “Distant Galaxy Dress.” Or, as we call it on my planet: The Sacred Robe of the Psychedelic Time Princess. I don’t know if you realize what a priceless item you carry there in your stocks… if that ‘dress’ were to fall into the wrong hands, mod fashion as we know it would be destroyed by the Rockers of Kalamanoobero. You see, my people and the Rockers of Kalamanoobero have been locked in heated battle even since one of their people openly mocked the oversized buttons on one of my people’s scooter helmets. How dare they question the validity of such gorgeous buttons! Everybody knows reason wilts and melts in the face of Fashion! And so, ever since that time on the planet of Brightone, an epic war has raged between our races. But if I had my hands on that dress….!!! O, if I only had my hands on that dress!! I would ensure that the mods will ride their war scooters to such a victory that the Rocker’s world would spin so fast it would kind of look like a red, white and blue target symbol.

Well, the biggest thing I want for christmas is the courage to talk to the cute new guy in my local choir… But that’s beside the point.

I’m so in love with the Marzipan Coat and the Beatnik Boots. You just can’t find clothes like yours over here (Switzerland), the closest we get to stylish clothing is H&M. I was sick of walking around looking like a H&M advert, so I looked for clothes online. I’m so glad I found this place. To be honest, Modcloth has helped me develop my own style. Before, I just wanted to look different. Now, I know that vintage is love :D
Also, if I had a gift certificate, I wouldn’t have to annoy my mum by borrowing her credit card all the time. Well, for one order, at least.

This year, for Christmas, all I really want is peace back in my family.

I must have been too naughty this year because Santa has already denied me of my number 1 item on my wish list. Taken literally out of my hands… You see, I did some shopping on your site yesterday. Got that delicious Bibbed Pleather Bomber jacket. Or rather, I thought I did! Lo, an email informed me today that there was a glitch in the process and that item had already been sold out! Boo – hoo…

I guess I could lull my pain with a pair of Modcloth shoes. So difficult to choose there, but I’d go for the Mustard Is The New Pink. So cute, comfortable and versatile. And while we’re at it, I’ve had a crush on the Flowers at Dust dress… And the Creme Brulee dress! And the sadly sold out Slate Gray Cardigan dress… Oh, it’s useless… I’m too greedy and your stuff is just too sweet…
    Merry Xmas!

All I want for christmas is the Tinsel Trim Coat. So cute!

I would love to wake up and find your roller rink jacket under my tree! It’s so very 80s and reminds me of being a little kid and having all my birthday parties at the roller rink. I would spend hours picking out the right outfit to rollerskate in (if only I had had this jacket!) and even more hours fretting over the abominable “couples skate.” Ahhhh, those were the days.

I also love your little sleeping panda salt and pepper shakers SO much that I had to buy them as a gift for someone else! Adorable.

  57. Philippa 12/19/2007 at 12:35 pm #

My top wish on my wish list is the Vintage Scrunch Boots (now sold out). Let me tell you, I have been searching for the perfect pair of boots for three years now! I’ve searched all over Copenhagen, and London, and NYC for my dream boots and then one day as I stumbled upon your website via a “vintage leather boots” internet search … there they were. The Perfect Boots. The slight wedge, the rounded toe, the worn leather look … I’m almost drooling. They go perfect with everything in my closet, and they are just what I need to round off my mod retro euro look. I want these boots more than anything this Christmas.
    Much love & happy holidays!

    Cupcake Fantasy Flight

Sugar plum dresses danced in my head
As white speckled pugs chased me to bed
Dreamy visions of treats that await my delight
Creme brulee and eclairs stealing a bite
In tinsel town jumper under mistletoe dress
In sequined beret with the tea cup princess
I strapped on the ruffle trim berry blue flats
And rode trojan horse through cadillac bag
Unicorns in space spun on glittery discs
Starry cummerbund galaxy couldn’t be missed
In the land of dark chocolate and ruffle knit wrap
Through tangled trees twinkled sapphire strap
A solar glow brick beamed bright like the sun
Down mushroom highway how fast I did run
Champagne rose of the forest enchanted and old
Wide eyes gleamed as I glimpsed the big pot of gold!

Thanks Modcloth for the creatively named knits!
Merry X-mas to you and a Happy New Year!

    ~*Bronwyn*~

P.S. The creme brulee dress was made for me!!!

What do I hope to find under the tree? I am completely in love with the Cocktails at Lunch Dress and the Distant Galaxy Dress. I’m currently working on changing the path of my life, and part of that is changing the way I dress.

After spending my college career being “practical” (as dictated by my father) I’ve finally realized that all I really want to do in life is work in theatre. I’ve loved the theatre since I was a little girl (my first time onstage was when I was 5 years old!) and now I’m trying to find my path back, but it’s difficult. Having given it up for far too long to focus on academics, I feel behind a lot of other people my age trying to break into the same world. But the bottom line is I love it, I’m passionate about theatre, and I’m not going to be happy if I don’t do everything in my power to make it my life. It doesn’t matter if I’m performing onstage or working behind the scenes, there’s such joy in putting together a beautiful, meaningful production and sharing that with others. Theatre is all about telling great stories. Stories that make people feel, think, laugh, cry, be transported somewhere else for a while, and perhaps gain some understanding of others.

As I think about moving to a big city and throwing myself head first into this world, I’m realizing how important image is. In theatre, how you look is crucial, making the right impression, expressing your creativity and style, saying who you are through your clothes. Both of those beautiful dresses would help me get noticed, and make the kind of impression I’m hoping for, whether I’m at an audition or a job interview. I’m not afraid to chase my dreams anymore, and I want everyone to know it!

After all, isn’t this time of year all about dreaming and wishing? Happy Holidays!

I wish that I lived in old Narnia, the land of walking trees and naiads, of fauns and satyrs, of dwarfs and giants, of talking beasts.

I wish we had a better government, and that the 4th branch wasnt media.

It has been a really tough year, with having the house we rent being sold out from under us twice, having to move twice, my husband’s truck dying a week ago and having to buy a new one right before Xmas and being seriously ill myself. These are the lovely things that would lift my spirits:

    Chocolate Truffle Wallet
    The Alphabet Scarf
    The Octopus Necklace
    Dreams of Paris Pillow cases

If I’m not picked, at least it was fun “window shopping’ and seeing all the cool things you have on your site. :)

Ok, so I am really obsessed with both owls and mushrooms, and Modcloth offers a bevy of both. I’m such a fanatic that my friend has suggested we start an owl & mushroom gang and have been working on an appropriate gang sign*. But I digress. If Santa knows what’s good for him, he will tuck the Owl Family Messenger Bag, Wind Up Owl Clock, Mushroom Desk Set, and Mushroom Pot Holder set under my tree. Bootiful!

*Simply suck in your cheeks a la Vanilla Ice and make one hand into an “O” at breast height and make an “M” with the other hand with three fingers at bellybutton height. Voila.

  63. Elizabeth 12/19/2007 at 3:22 pm #

Ok, I can’t even remember the last time I won anything, but it’s worth a shot, right? :) I haven’t bought myself clothes in years. YEARS. It’s not that I don’t love clothes shopping or that I don’t like the way I look trying things on, but whenever I go into a store and look at the price tags I feel a bit sick in my tummy. I’m not the craftiest of people, so I can’t go the route of making my own items. I’ve tried :) I am all thumbs.

This all started when I decided to go back to school to get a master’s degree. I already had a lot of debt from my undergrad but it seemed like a worthwhile investment. $40,000 later I had an MA and decided to take a break and teach for a while. It was rewarding, but not very lucrative. I found myself just sort of hovering at the getting by level.

After teaching I decided to try and switch fields, from design to anthropology. Without much guidance, I applied for a PhD program. 2 years in a row… I failed. With no anthro background, nobody was willing to take a chance on me. I finally sought advice again, and was told to do a second Master’s degree in my new field first. Another $40,000 in the hole. So, with around $100k in student debt and nothing yet to show for it (plus no income), you can see why I’d be reluctant to buy myself any clothes. It’s gotten so bad that in one of my teaching evaluation forms a student wrote “I could help you pick out clothes!” People joke about my frumpiness, and I am too young to be frumpy! I haven’t had much positive affirmation lately, and I love your clothes, so it’d mean a lot to win something.

Anyway, my family isn’t really doing presents this year, but I’d secretly love some. I’d be so touched to get any of these: the Tangled Trees Hoodie (if it came back in L or M), or the Grey Gardens Hoodie if it doesn’t, The Weathervane V-Neck, Bianca Thermal Shirt, Herringbone Sailor Pants.

Thanks, Merry Christmas and a Prosperous ’08!

  64. Alaine 12/19/2007 at 3:36 pm #

Well while I’m dreaming, I’d like the entire stock of ModCloth simply delivered into my closet. But for a more realistic wishlist, I would have to say the common cold keychain would be a hilarious addition to my keyring, the rose garden ring would be lovely gracing my hand as I shopped around on the ModCloth website, the mushroom kisslock bag would be a far trendier way to carry my stuff around than the tote bag that I’m currently using, the (sold-out) swooping swallows necklace would at least make my neck fashionable in the cold Chicago winter, and the mistletoe and cake batter dresses would allow me to wear a bra (a necessity that few designers realize) while still looking gorgeous celebrating the holidays and ringing the new year.

I really would like Winston under my tree when I wake up on Christmas morn. I think I owe him a visit and some holiday cheer (I’m going to get him a little boozy) and send him home for the rest of the holiday.

  66. Nana 12/19/2007 at 4:47 pm #

What I really wanted for Christmas this year was your “Edie” shift dress! My sister is an artist and loves Andy Warhol, and the dress reminded her of the 60′s and the pop art movement. Unbeknownst to me, the dress has sold out on your website! I’ve even tried to contact the manufacturer of the dress, but unfortunately, there are no stores close by to me that sell the dress. I’d love to win the $100 gift card so I could give it to my sister, even though I couldn’t get her exactly what she wanted.

Ah, it’s summer down here in the southern hemisphere and I’m sitting sweating at the computer in the coolest room in the house. Obviously I’m going to be thinking about thick woollen clothing, which is why I’m coveting the Twiggy Knit Coat with its fabulously ’60s vibe happening. Twiggy Coat – if I win you, I assure you I will find some way to wear you immediately (possibly with icepacks underneath). That’s all I want for Christmas, oh and world peace?

The Night Before –my Mod Cloth- Christmas :)

‘Twas the night before Christmas and I sat in my house,
Carving an apple with my “peeler shaped like a mouse”.
The vintage stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that my Mod Cloth $100 gift card would soon be there.
My family was nestled all snug in their beds,
Rockin’ “music lover pillow cases” under their heads.
And mamma with her “alphabet scarf” and I in my “Amsterdam knit cap”,
Had just settled down for nap in our matching “be mine wraps”.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
That I think I lost a “brain cell” when I jumped up to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew in my “Flash (slip ons!)”
Tore open the shutters and threw up the antique sash.
The moon on a package that lay on the front door step tied up with a bow,
Gave me such delight that I nearly jumped through the window.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Winston wearing a red nose and antlers just like Rudolph the Reindeer.
Sitting in a sleigh next to a fashionable driver who was dressed in a “red pullover the color of lipstick”,
I knew in a moment that this was how Mod Cloth shipped their packages so quick.
More rapid than all the other vintage sites my Mod Cloth package came,
And when I opened it, I whistled and shouted, and checked my items by name,
“Now here is my “Modern Audrey Dress”, my “Share Bear Tote”, and “Farm Animals that Sharpen”,
My “Highland Fling Skirt”, my “Superhero Boots”, and finally my “T-shirt about Recyclin’!”
They came! They are here! I now can have them all!
All because I wrote this poem to win a $100 gift card from Mod Cloth that’s off the wall!

I would want to find the Cotillion dress, the Sugar Plum dress or the Under The Mistletoe dress under my tree. It reminds me so much of old Hollywood and I want to be an actress one day!

’tis the season for wanting & wishing.
the top of my wishlist is the tattoo design wallet (that is sold out : /). this wallet is the perfect addition to the dream purse i just bought myself. it’s the betsey johnson “old school tattoo design” bag that i found for only $20! (it was the last one in the store, too!) i have wanted this bag for a very long time. however, i am the type that needs to have a new cute wallet to match every new cute bag i buy. & well, i cannot find a wallet i love to use with this bag, so long story short, the tattoo design wallet is perfect!
added to my list are the “taxi cab” heels. i have absolutely no idea what i would wear them with, but i feel as thought i MUST have them. i think shoes that are this great merit the need to purchase a dress to go with them. : ]

    Happy Holidays Modcloth!
First off I have to say that I am inspired by and admire the uniqueness and creativity within your company! You provide us with fun, eclectic, tasty treats of clothing and accessories that are hard to find amongst an over-saturated repetitive clothing market. And most importantly Modcloth has a message that I believe is one of the most important messages now and especially for 2008: CHANGE!!
CHANGE TO CREATE A HEALTHIER ENVIRONMENT, CHANGE TO NOT EAT ANIMALS AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ANIMAL CRUELTY IS NOT OK ANYMORE! CHANGE TO BE A HEALTHIER STRONGER AND MORE CONFIDENT WOMAN, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY CHANGE TO EXPRESS YOURSELF FREELY AND BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE AND WEAR THE THINGS YOU WANT TO WEAR-NOT WHAT ANYONE *THINKS* YOU SHOULD WEAR.
Modcloth I see your message and I TRULY APPRECIATE IT…
And so it is only fitting that the following items are on my wishlist this holiday season:
    * the Eat People Top
    * the I Heart Recycling Tee
    * the Kittens Bag
    * anything by Alternative Apparel (they are a great VEGAN clothing line!)
    * the book Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World! (darn it’s sold out! but wow what a hip alternative-i mean cupcakes are so trendy right now and someone actually wrote a book about VEGAN ones?? fascinating!)
    * oh! and I can’t forget those ROCKIN’ London Girl T-Straps! (they’re not REAL snakeskin are they? haha)

If I don’t win the $100 then to whomever that does I urge you to purchase at least one thing that will send a positive message to the world!

Merry Christmas Modcloth and to all that read this! =)

  72. Kelsey 12/19/2007 at 8:59 pm #

If I had to choose just one (why only one??!) item from Mod Cloth it would definitely be the Kittens bag.

I pretty much adore cats, but not in that AHHCUTEPINKKITTENS!! kinda way. I admire their intelligence and find their quirkiness amusing, so this bag just seemed right. I wanted a cat bag that wasn’t over the top, and this is just what I was looking for. The cats just look so evil and sneaky, this bag is cute, but still has a saner personality. which is pretty much perfect.

Thanks for selling some awesome clothes and bags!

Hmmm-Is there anything I “DON’T” wish for on Modcloth!

I recently discovered this site and immediately fell in love with everything on it. I check it daily and dream of the time (after holiday madness) that I will have some extra cash to get some things for myself.

As an artist for the Butterick-McCall and VOGUE pattern co. I am around designs and sewing all the time. I also, as a hobby, design, sew and sell my own line for Blythe on Etsy. So obviously I would Love to have your “Snip and Shear necklace and t-shirt”. They are a must for me since I do spend endless hours at my sewing machine!!!

After just throwing out my favorite boots with holes from way too much wear the “tie back ankle boots” would be great as well as the adorable “London girl T-straps.”

After moving from Manhattan, a little bit north-I have learned to really appreciate nature and the beauty of it all around me so of course the “Film stills slouch bag” (a definite favorite) and the “Twisted tree necklace” are just what I am craving now!

I would smile every time I walk into my room and see these beautiful “Chandelier Pillowcases” on my bed.
These are all things I dream of having and will work my butt off after the holidays to get them if I am not lucky enough to win.

    “HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE”

  74. Nina 12/20/2007 at 12:15 am #

    Dearest Modcloth,

Flat out, The Dutch Plaid Riding Coat is the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life! And of course, I discover it *after* the christmas list has been sent and the items have been bought! :( :( I’m actually really surprised not too many other people have seemed to mention it on here, because I can’t believe it’s not sold out and think it is so fabulous! With big sunglasses! Oh man, PERFECT! Hahaha. I had lost my hair for medical reasons earlier this year, and now have a TWIGGY cut (yes!) and am trying soooo hard to rock it and make it work (it’s tough when you’re not twiggy!) and loved the idea of this jacket to tie the look together. I’m going to try and limit myself, because the last thing i want to seem like one of those people who uses their sickness or situation to get things or to pull a pity card, but i’m genuine when i say it’s been a tough year and i’m ready and trying hard to feel confident about myself and looks again!
So I guess ideally what I’d like to find under my tree is an e-mail telling me I won this and am $100 closer to my beloved jacket! Hahaha. Merry Christmas!

WHAT I WANT FOR THE HOLIDAS IS TO SEE MY CLOSE FRIEND WHOM I HAV NOT SEEN IN ALMOST FOUR YEARS. DISTANCE IS A MAJOR BARRIER. I MISS HER SO MUCH SHE IS MORE THAN A FRIEND SHE IS THE SISTER I NEVER HAD. ITS HARD TO FIND FRIENDS, I MEAN TRUE FRIENDS AND SHE IS DEFINITELY ONE OF THEM

  76. Jordan 12/20/2007 at 3:38 am #

    Here it goes…
Berry Blue Flats, Velociraptor necklace, Flowers at Dusk Dress, Garden Sorie Dress, Black Cloud Mini Dress, Summer Swing Dress, Vintage Scrunch Dress, The Artist Tunic, Broken Hearts Top, Trinkets Tank, Summer Star Halter Top, Magic Heart Balloons Top (pink), Rainbow Tank, Black Mini Hearts tunic, Guitar Star Thermal, Be Mine Wrap Sweater (grey), Blue Bookworm Top, Robot Keychain, The Classic Beret, The Best Travel Case Ever, Sweet Heart Headband, Vintage Candy Gift Set, Supayana Brunch All Day Dress, Sexyback Tweed Skirt.

I think that about does it. =) too bad I hate spending money on myself. =P Merry Christmas!!!

He see’s you when your sleeping
    He knows when your awake
He knows when you’ve been bad or good
So be good, for goodness sake
    You better watch out
    You better not cry
    You better not pout
    I’m telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town ~~

I have to admit though, that songs just make me think of 1984 ( Santa Claus is watching you!).
Well, over to the good stuff then. Which piece of modclothing-goodness would I like to find under my tree, all wrapped up and just for me?
Why one of your lovely pocket watch necklaces of course! Which one of them, on the other hand, is a question much more complicated. Silver is usually always my first choice, but I have to admit that the little birdies on the golden one are awfully adorable.
Either way, I really need to get my hand on one of them soon, I been longing for a dear old pocket watch of my own ever since I was a little girl with pigtails (not that I don’t wear pigtails any more, because, believe me, I do).
My grandma, who I miss constantly and am proud to be named of (Helena was her first name), used to have this shiny, golden trinket, which I later realized was a tiny tiny clock, and I have fond memories of sitting in her lap while playing with it (where it is now, I ,unfortunately, don’t know).
And when I grew older I discover the magic of “Alice in Wonderland”, and of course the white rabbit is a favourite character of mine (perhaps, this is way I’m always late? Yes, this should be my new lame excuse!). His prominent feature? A pocket watch!
So, undoubtedly you can see that such fine pieces of clockery (probably not an actual word ~) hold a certain place in my heart.

Merry Christmas to you all! And a splendid New Year!
Or as we say in Sweden: God Jul och Gott Nytt År!
    / Hanna Helena Raski

What I really really REALLY want to find under my tree this Christmas is my kitty kisslock bag that the postman seems to love so much that he’s holding it hostage! I just wrote to Santa to ask him to put that mean postman on the naughty list.

Hello to all of you reading the posts.

What i truly want from Modcloth for Christmas is the “Weathervane V-Neck”. I fell in love with it both the moment i saw it.

To me, the “Weathervane V-Neck” is the perfect top, it is the shirt that is made for me. It is the one thing I am going to slave away for. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t get very dressed up anytime. I’m more of a tee and jeans girl. I basically wear them 24/7. I’d like something a bit dressier for a change for a school dance. I’d also pick one of the nice skirts in the skirt section, and get a pair of flats.

I want to look a little different for once.

    Thanks.

And if i don’t win, that’s okay. Merry Christmas, Modcloth and congratulations in advance to the winner. :)

    xoxo

It is 7am. I am 25 years old and sitting here at the front desk of the B&B I work at making $8/hr. I have a degree, yes an honest-to-goodness diploma signed by the President of the University of North Texas saying that I have now achieved my bachelors in French with a minor in Art History. I should be proud and relieved to be done with school. No more pencils, no more books…you know how the song goes. But alas, I instead feel what I’m sure many young people feel immediately following graduation. Lost. Unsuccessful. An immense pressure bearing down on me…the pressure to find that perfect job. One that will guarantee success and fortune. So I will have the financial security to start popping out babies, once the ring is on my finger of course. So for this Christmas I want something that you cannot wrap up and put out under the tree. No, no. I want a job. An amazing, creative, inspiring job. A career that won’t make me depressed the rest of my life. I need color. I need cute little japanese figurines to greet me at the office. I need ModCloth. I need a job with ModCloth. There. I said it. All I want for Christmas is a job with ModCloth. Joyeux Noel Tout le Monde!

I just graduated from graduate school and will be starting my first professional job in my field. After looking at my closet, I’m in a bit of a panic–everything is either too “collegey,” too casual or doesn’t fit. I’m going to be working in a college archives, so I need to be professional but still dress my age (23).

    That’s why I love:
*Scholarly Style Jacket—Adorable, yet subtle and professional.
*Falling Leaves Necklace—Unique, age-appropiate and yet professional enough that I could wear it with any outfit and feel confident! Seriously, I love this necklace. I’m going to think about it all day.
*Vermeer Sweater Dress—It’s warm, comfy and stylish. Good dresses are so hard to find but this one is great! I could definitely wear this to work.
*Candlelight Knit Cardigan—You can call me cardigan girl. I adore cardigans! It’s definitely very academic–which is good because I’m working at a college!–but is also different and classy.
*Cable Knit Scrunch Gloves—My hands and feet are always cold. The gloves will keep my hands warm and I think I’d be able to wear them at work. Once I had to wear gloves at work because I was so cold. Here’s a classy way to keep my hands warm!

I start my new job in January and have been anticipating that I’ll need to dip into my savings to buy some appropiate clothing. A gift certificate would be so appreciated (especially since I could buy some CUTE clothing instead of the boring things I’d have to buy elsewhere). Thanks!

My love, My boyfriend, has recently signed up for the marines and will be leaving Jan 14th for boot camp. While I love and support him in all his endeavors, it has left me feeling secretly a little bereft and very very sad. He will be gone for about 3 months and we have yet to spend more than 3 days apart. My wish list is comprised of the lovebirds tote and the wonderland personal planner. I was looking at all the different and exciting things you have to offer but these two things caught my eye the most. The tote caught my eye because of what it said, “I don’t think it necessary for you to start tomorrow, I wish I could live together here” and it sums up how I feel so nicely on one bag. The wonderland personal planner also caught my eye because I am a big planner. I like to plan for every event but the reason I want this item the most is because the new year is coming to an end, and I want a new planner that is as elated as I am to count down the days that my love will return to me.

    thanks

Of the many ModCloth items I like (and want), one in particular stirs my imagination and emotions. Mod Cloth’s Colorblock Heels have, for me, a 1940s retro feel, and bring to mind one of my favorite photos of my memere (grandmother). It was taken in the center of my small hometown when she was just a teenager. Now, you must know that my memere has the hugest, most vivacious and bubbly personality of anyone I’ve ever known. She perseveres, unwaveringly looks on the positive side of things, thinks of others before herself, and has never once complained in my presence (or anyone else’s). Growing up, I spent years visiting in her kitchen with the rest of our family; we drank soda, ate popcorn, colored, and just talked and enjoyed the time we were able to spend together. She has the most amazing memory; I will never forget the time during a conversation many years ago that she recalled the exact date and day of the week of a particular holiday – 10 years ago. She has, and always will, amaze and inspire me. My love of my hometown comes from these memories of family; I will forever carry them with me, and I look forward to each chance I get to go home and visit again.

In my beloved photo, my memere and her cousin lean over the back of a car with the top down as they ride through the center of town. They are the epitome of war-time beauties, with their wavy hair and tailored outfits. They wear huge smiles on their faces, and look truly happy and care-free. In the background old fashioned businesses rise up (some still standing and some much changed today), and people walk to and from – I always wonder where they were going and what they were thinking about that day. My memere lived in a time when she didn’t have much, but didn’t need much, either. The life she led, and continues to lead, was rich with friends and family. Christmas (and life) was about people and relationships – and maybe an orange, hand-made scarf, or a piece of candy. I imagine that she would have worn shoes just like the Colorblock Heels, and would have been absolutely ravishing in her spunky elegance. I’m amazed at how many changes (for better and for worse) have happened since that photo was taken, and I’m even more amazed that my memere has maintained her same smile and personality, full of life and love.

OK, all I want is the taxi shoes.

The only color shoes I own are black. Black combat boots, black work shoes…black, black, black. Black pants, black skirts and shirts…my last boss called me his Johnny Cash sidekick. I’m trying so hard to get some color into my life, it’s like I’m stuck in my Siouxsie Sioux days and I can’t get out! I think the taxi shoes would really ease me into color.

I’ve been really good this year, too. I just got my massage therapy license and I work a whole lot. Just by working I’m chilling out humanity. Plus I made handmade books for my family and friends this year, and I give to paralyzed veterans and work on alzhiemer’s patients for free. I also cook for my poor bachelor friends that would otherwise eat fast food every day.

I’m seriously not trying to kiss up, but Winston is a Cutie McCuterson. Just had to say.

    Anyway, thanks for considering me!

If I could wake up on Decemeber 25th with modcloth merchandise under my christmas tree I would wish for three things.
First I would hope for the vintage candy gift set. The reason I would want that is because I have a sister currently serving in Iraq and she is a BIG candy lover so that would be the perfect gift to send to her, plus it wont be the candy she is used to, she would get a taste of old school candy.
The next thing I would hope for under my christmas tree is the Nylon Street Book for my sister too. She is into fashion, when she was in the states she always dressed up. and that book would be good for her because while she is in Iraq she will have a fashion book to look at and would have the chance to see others fashion styles and get some ideas from that. When she is back in the states from looking at that book she can add some of their style into her own. Last but not least I would want the Retro Brigtht Sweater for my mom. She wears the same clothes and is stuck in the 80s, the only thing is her clothes they are not whats happening. they are not stylish. I want that sweater for her because it looks 80s but stylish so the sweater will help her update her style. So those are the things I would wish for to be under my christmas tree, nothing for me, but things for my family. My mom and sister.

If I could have anything, it would be my own designing studio, or just a little place I can have to myslef to explore my fashion design. I love fashion (almost as much as my chocolate lab) because each outfit can tell a story, or describe the person who designed it.

  88. Florence 12/20/2007 at 9:04 pm #

I almost feel guilty for even responding to the posted question, even if it is a contest, because I was browsing through some of the answers and some people are in tough situations where they won’t even be able to receive a Christmas gift. I guess I would just ask for the Vintage Scrunch Boots. I’ve had my eye on them for a while now. They were restocked once, because the boots were such a popular demand. When they were out of stock, I requested a size. To my luck, they were restocked, but the price was still the same. Fifty dollars is a really good price for boots, but I just don’t have the luxury to spend fifty dollars. I’ve been wanting these specific boots, because they can be paired with a casual or semi-casual attire. Plus, the description of the boots reads that the inside is “lined with cushy material,” which is very practical. It’s hard to find practicality when shopping fashionably, which makes the boots a good find.

My old comment didn’t seem to work…:(! It’ the second one until “Danielle”, but I didn’t write the first one under Danielle, so don’t worry :)
Oh well. I’ll try again. :)
    ———-
    Dear ModCloth,
I’ve tried very hard to be good this year. I really have! So now comes the part where I beg shamelessly :).

I’ve always had trouble when it came to my style. I never find clothing that fits my style, it’s always too “skanky”, too “emo” or too “preppy”. Honestly, I only really like a few articles of clothing I own. The rest I wear because I have nothing else to. I must confess, I always feel way more confident in clothing I like. And I need a little help in the confidence department, that’s for sure! I’m practically invisible, people I’ve gone to school with for 5 years still don’t know I exist. Don’t get me wrong, I have friends, but not many. My confidence is really low, and the bad acne doesn’t help.

When I stumbled on this website I was blow away. There was actually so many things I loved and that I’d WEAR! I started coming to this site everyday, always excited to see what new items had come in. ModCloth is now part of my daily ritual :).

Okay. Now I’ll tell you what I’d be sooooo grateful if I received to have this year:

    1) Tinsel Town Jumper. This is the perfect mix of cute and girly, without being TOO girly. It’s a great neutral colour and those button? Aren’t they the cutest things ever?

    2) Bib-Front Pleather Bomber. I’ve always looked for a “girly-yet-not-too-girly leather jacket/bomber”. And what do I find when I look in your outerwear? THE PERFECT BOMBER!! It could be worn with a dress, a top, anything! It’s perfect!

    3) Last is the Cadillac Bag. It may not be clothing, but it’s AMAZING! So chic and spiffy, but not snobby. It’s cheeky and fun, and makes a statement. I’d be over the moon if I got this!

So, ModClothSanta, I know the chances of me winning are pretty slim, but a girl can dream right? I’m sure whoever you choose will be deserving. That being said, any of these things would make me so happy (and hopefully more confident!). Keep up with the great site. :)

Thanks for the opportunity and happy holidays!
    xoxo
    Danielle

    Dear ModCloth,
To put it simply, I wish that I could have everything your store has to offer. ModCloth has everything one needs to dress you fashionably from head to toe and even your cellphone made complete with a cute charm. ModCloth gets your living environment furnished, whatever it may be, decorated wall-to-wall too with a cute Toadstool Lamp and Chirping Birds Wall Art. Whatever the case may be I know that this wish is too large, but I am sure this wish is shared by many who had just happened to stumble upon your page or others who check the site on a daily basis.
This christmas from ModCloth, for a simpler Christmas wish, I would like some items for my college life I feel that I need and do not just desire. I would really like the Mini Wind-up Owl Clock because in college I do not want to be late for my early morning 8:10′s. A girl needs to wake up to get ready for class…and of course to learn! :) Missing class wouldn’t be good. And I could wake up to an alarm from an adorable owl clock. A perfect accessory for the empty spot on my shelf. I would also like the Cupcake Key Cover (even though I see it is sold out, but hey this is a wish after all!) because my dorm key is simply boring and I always forget to bring it with me. Getting locked out of my room all the time is no fun, especially to have to pay to get back in the room… With a cute key cover I would always be sure to bring the key with me! No more losing money to getting locked out!

If I had to make a wish for something I do not need… but I would like… is the Lovebirds Tote that has caught my eye for a while. On the side is written, “I don’t think it necessary for you to start tomorrow. I wish I could live together here.” It is simple and beautiful. I hope that everyone gets the chance to feel this way at least once in their lifetime.

Regardless if I win or not, this is Christmas Wishlist Contest is a nice idea. I enjoy seeing what others want for Christmas – and what they like from the fabulous site that is ModCloth!

  91. heather butler 12/21/2007 at 12:03 am #

for christmas i would ask for my dachshund puppy tevez to be completely well – he has been suffering from puppy strangles for several months, which leaves him tired and weak most of the day. however, his eyes are sparkly and each morning he seems hopeful, ready, and even optimistic. i would wish for his little wounds to disappear forever, and for him to grow big and strong like his sister simone. i have the little owl bag from modcloth which i carry him around in, but on christmas hopefully he will run around the house all day long with strength, light and energy.

    happy holidays.
love, heather, tevez (the puppy) and simone (the puppy)

Oh, what DON’T I want from ModCloth?
ALL of your household decorative items to combat this overrun-with-icky-boy stuff apartment that I share with the love of my freaking life. I want cute, original items surrounding me in all that I do. A toadstool lamp to reach for at 1am when my bladder simply will not wait; Sleepy Panda salt and Pepper shakers to Spice up some dinner time conversation or at least a baked potato…and I know this isn’t house-decorative, but that “Eat People” shirt? I want to be wearing that right now. And again and again until all of my friends have seen and envied it..and then a time or two after that (in case I was sitting weird or my jacket was not unzipped enough for everyone to really catch it the first, second or 18th time)

The vinyl bath mat? I should own that! I should step out of a hot shower and onto that incredibly “me” piece of bathroom goodness EVERY SINGLE DAY.
I am surrounded by plain old navy blue bath mats, boring (and hideous!) hand-me-down lamps from 1982, dirty clothes, neon bud light signs, ragged posters of girls that I are far more thin than I could ever dream to be and weird, why-would-you-spend-200-bucks-on-that gadgets and remote controlled mini monster trucks.

Also, that little beanie with the ears on it? My best friend needs that. She has the cutest little face, I can almost imagine her with those little ears as is. ALMOST. she really needs the ear hat to bring my imagination to life. She needs it like I need that octipus necklace, that bath mat, that rad lamp, oh god-the eat people shirt..and like i desperatly need this ModCloth gift card.

Please help me in this battle between my boyfriends stuff and mine. Every sleepy panda salt shaker brings me one step closer to a bud light sign in the closet..and someday maybe..just maybe..the garbage.

I would be estatic to see the Magic Veggies under my tree, my 3yr old baby girl would flip out..HARDCORE! LOL, also the Library Planner in red is so chic and useful, it would totally help me organize my papers and homework from journalism & mass media communications class ( Access Hollywood, here I come!) The Fleur de Lis earrings in green would compliment the London Girl T-Straps in a 10 perfectly, since they match my sassy yet sweet style. Thanks, ModCloth!

    greetings!

my biological mother and i have recently begun communicating after eighteen years of estrangement, and when she flies in to meet me for the FIRST TIME in so many years in a few weeks, i would LOVE to greet her at the horrendously stuffed-full airport wearing something amazingly unique. my modcloth wish is the reindeer dress (i see you now have two available; i wish for the gray knitted one LOVE). when i see her, i want to be able to recite this poem:

    “roses are red,
    violets are blue,
    it’s been eighteen years
    since i’ve seen you.

    but thanks to modcloth,
    the delicious indie site,
    i am dressed to impress
    to see you tonight!”

regardless, your site is a visual inspiration to me and, i’m sure, thousands of others. thank you and happy holidays!

    Dearest ModCloth,
Last New Year’s I made a promise to myself that I would become a healthier and happier individual. Subsequently, I began working out at the local gym about 5-6 times a week. With time and a ton of effort, I lost over 60LBS!! Needless to say, I went from a size 14/16 to a size 8. Unfortunately, almost my entire wardrobe had be given to the Army. In the mighty bag I recently donated, there were numerous Stop Staring Dresses. While I hope that they find a good home, I will miss their polka dot and vintage-esque goodness. I would really like to purchase some new clothes for interviews since I just graduated from college too. To all of you-Please know that you can do anything you put your mind to. I know that it may sound cheezy, but I sincerely mean it. I could have never imagined the extent of my accomplishments one year prior. Best wishes and many kisses! -K

You know what I want for Christmas? I don’t either. I’ve got everything I need- a nice and supportive family, a lovely boyfriend, a fantastic group of friends and the dumbest (but bestest) dog on the planet. I’ve got a warm house to come home to after leaving my stupid (but well-paying) job, I’ve got running water and electricity, I’ve got free access to an old (but trusty) station wagon. I’ve got my health and I’ve got my health insurance to make sure that I’ve got my health. I have a cute little tea pot with matching mug, and two candy canes from friends. I’ve also got a nice magnet that says “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

I’ve got it good, and I’m so glad for that.

I think what I want for Christmas is to keep it this way. And if things change, may it be only for the best.

Actually the only thing i really want does come from this website. I have an obsession with high heels and i hate it when people have the same ones as I do, well I’m the only person from my school who knows about this website which helps me alot. All I want for Christmas are the taxi cab yellow and houndstooth heels. They have to be the cutest shoes I have ever seen. But, I know i won’t get them. My parents won’t buy me shoes that cost more than $50, so I have so save my money and buy them myself. I have $47 so far, but really thats all i want for Christmas.

    Dear ModCloth Santa,

Hi, uh, I know I haven’t ever written you. Nor, have I written the other Santa Claus since I was about seven. So lets get to the point. Give me what I want. Here is why:

I am a little on the heavier side so the clothes don’t always fit me, but the shoes, which are my favorite thing to buy, do. I sometimes, do to my heavier set, do not always feel good in what I wear. However, I always manage to put on the perfect set of pumps, boots, flats, whatever the clothes need, in order to pull it together. With the perfect set of shoes, I walk with a certain confidence. I walk a bit taller, and I know that I look beautiful. Shoes the foundation to which I walk the concrete jungles of San Francisco with assurance, even arrogance sometimes. So, with a hundred dollars I would buy a nice set of shoes, something that I know will look good on me, something that can carry me, show a bit of who I am.

So, ModCloth Santa, I have been a good girl this year. I promise.

    Sincerely,
    Lola

Oh Dear, what would I want?

    Weellll~

Bags are an obsession of mine that I can’t seem to break, but it seems as if all the cute bags have run away from me. But I seem to have found quite a few of them here on this site. I would just faint is I recieved anyone of those cute little bags. But bags can’t cover my body, so some of the dresses would also be a major want in my life. Like, a totally major wannnnttt~. ♥

The clothes and accessories on this site give fashion a fresh new perspective that isn’t easily seen now. So to have any items on this site would make life just a bit brighter and happier. ♥

Sorry for bad English but I’ll try ^^” — After a night of dreaming about my own cute paradise I would wakeup again in the real world. It would be amazing to have my own cute paradise here on earth. Like a REAL daydream. There would be a white Christmas tree in front of my bed and a little letter, which says: “In your own cute winter wonderland, where everything is good, there will be candy everywhere and memories from your childhood. Soft en sweet clothing is there for you to wear, so it is always possible to be a princess over here.”

And there under the Christmas tree, are presents everywhere. They include the greatest modcloth items , also the vintage candy set, which would be great to share. Also the sneaky stuffed owl is around, to be friends with me forever. To decorate my paradise, there is also the cute forest wall art. In the last box, an complete outfit is included: the reindeer jumper, tangled trees hoodie, elephant ankle boots, grey thermal leggings and the octopus necklace.

Sometimes gifts can be really amazing, especially when the come all together and they really create something. These gifts will create a cute winter wonderland paradise for me and all my friends, who are always hanging out at my place, since I’m the poor student with no parents around ;) ;)

Much love and happiness to all!
    Kim.

I’m a BROKE COLLEGE STUDENT with no sense of fashion but if I could wake up and have gifts under my tree from modcloth which by the way would be amazing since im a tomboy and i own not a one dress or anything fitted just baggy clothes. i would want the sugar plum dress because that would show off the curves i have been hiding..with the london girl t-straps to match because i have never worn a heel just sneakers so that would be something new for me and when i go back to college in january i will look girly and everyone on campus will want to know what im wearing and i will have the chance to tell them THE BEST PLACE EVER MODCLOTH and i have a lot of friends so then there all going to want to run to modcloth.com and order them things from the site then they can wear MODCLOTH CLOTHING…people will stop to ask them what are they wearing…then hey next thing you know THE WHOLE CAMPUS WILL BE WEARING MODCLOTH.

    Dear ModCloth,

For christmas i’m wishing for Le Ruffle Coat. It’s an awesome coat and i think i would look good in it. I’m also wishing for the Tinsel Town Jumper, and the Heatherette Theodosia Hoodie, the Photo Op Hat, oh, and many more items. But foremost Le Ruffle Coat.

The reason i deserve to receive Le Ruffle Coat is that i’m an mtf transsexual in the early days of transition. I have never been allowed to wear pretty clothes before, always only drab ugly guy’s stuff. So i deserve some help with catching up, with learning what clothes suit me and make me look pretty.

Plus, acquiring a whole new wardrobe is expensive, in particular for a poor college student paying her own way.

I hope this didn’t sound horribly me me me. But i really would love that coat.

    Love, Ruby

I would love to wake up Christmas morning and find that both my boyfriend’s and my jobs are safe from the budget cut and all of our credit cards have been paid. I would also love for a little elf to come and clean my whole house and cook breakfast before our holiday guests arrive.

    Dear Modcloth,

I have been a fan of your site for a few months now. I love the styles you emulate here the retro vintage look is what I’ve always strived to posses. my reasons for hoping that i win are that my year hasn’t been the best year. i graduated college last year and have not found a job in my career nor have i been able to get a job anywhere else its been very difficult for me this year I have been living with my bf who can barely support us both. A couple months back I lost my mother to lung cancer it was a very difficult time for me and still is as it gets closer to her birthday in December. After losing my mom and not having a job since i graduated college it’s just been very difficult. recently I lost my car due to a car accident and found out I was uninsured and am about to face more financial difficulties. I also broke my arm in that accident and I don’t have health insurance either. I don’t think I can afford anything for anyone for Christmas this year let alone myself. So I would greatly appreciate winning this contest more then you could imagine. My wish list items are Lodging for You Cardigan, or the Sweater Song Cardigan. I would really love a new sweater to keep me warm as I have a difficult time with that. My old beat up sweater isn’t doing it for me any more, and having a cast going up my arm doesn’t help. So I hope you choose me and thank you for listening.

    your fan,
    Amanda

Well my fiance has been in Afghanistan for five months now, five!! How I’ve survived, I have no idea. He means everything to me. Last week I received a phone call from him and found out one of his best friends died in combat and he was grief-stricken. I’ve never heard him so down before in our entire four year relationship.

So as you can imagine, I want it to be so special for him when I get to see him on his homecoming. I love the winter collection from modcloth and all of the new goodies the site has! It would be amazing to be able to wear one of my favorite dresses for when I get to see him after 7 months. First off Betsey Johnson is one of my favorite designers, so naturally I fell in love with her Belle of the Barre Dress. I feel like its the perfect fit for when my fiance returns from overseas, and this 100$ gift card would be awesome to put towards it! I hope I am considered for this contest because modcloth is my absolute favorite site!

I can never find a suitable dress for myself–all the ones I find are strapless or have thin straps and they are not supportive at all.

When I ventured upon ModCloth, my eyes were open to a whole new set of dresses! I couldn’t believe my eyes! There were actual dresses with strong, supporting straps that could support me.

I would love the Windy City Dress. I’ve never owned a dress for several years and that dress makes all my wishes come true. It’s supportive, beautiful, and I want it to be THE dress I will finally wear for my family and boyfriend.

What I really want is the strenth to walk into the court room, see my soon to be ex husband and show him i can be a strong, independent woman, that i am smart and can take care of my children without him beating me down. I want whatever outfit can help me get at least a little confedence to get though this, and show him i am beautiful! I love all the things here. If i had the money I would buy all the things in my wish list, and then some! Merry Christmas! Court is on Dec 21st. Wish me luck! Kodie

I would be happy enough with a Warmth and Cheer Coat, I guess. I’m on an exchange program on Canada for a year, and since I’m from Brazil, not used with all the cold. This coat is warm, cute, and reminds me from my uncle dressing himself of Santa Claus to give me my Christmas presents. From all the cold night in July (southern hemisphere guys) wishing that was a Christmas night, while sipping hot cocoa. All my lovely, sweet, childhood memories.
Besides all that, I’m lonely here. I have an adorable host family, but is not the same thing of your own family and friends and boyfriend enjoying each other. I guess receiving an incredibly sweet coat like these would make me happy enough to enjoy my Christmas as much as possible! ♥

  111. Camilla 11/09/2011 at 5:16 pm #

after i saw this contest i knew i had to try and enter. my family has very little money, and hardly enough to buy my family much for christmas. this year, i woulld love to tell my family that they don’t have to worry about buying me gifts for the holiday, and that i would be able to wake up and see the most stylish, and fashionable items straight from modCloth.

That isn’t my only reason, however. I also, want to use this chance to get my sisters and friends presents, that they rightfully deserve, but never get. I wish i had more money to buy them nice things every year, but i sadly never have any.

My sister, for instance, has been wanting a new, stylish handbag, and this would be the perfect time for me to get her one. i just know she would love the it’ll fit bag.

and my friend has been dreaming of a new necklace to go with her favorite dress, and i would love to make her dream come true with the very important date necklace.

it would just mean the world to me if i won the What’s on your Wishlist contest, because i know i’d be able to bring joy to others who bring joy to my life everyday.
