I thought I’d found the vintage Holy Grail last year. This weekend, I came to the realization that I was mistaken. Behold-

- the perfect vintage swimsuit! I’ve been trying to find something like this in my size for as long as I can remember. Not that I need the perfect vintage swimsuit; in fact, I already have the perfect vintage-inspired suit, but there’s just something about the real thing. Now I just need an invite to a glamorous pool party!

We’re carrying a new brand, and it’s kind of a big deal.

We’d like to extend a hearty “Guten Tag” to Blutsgeschwister, a clothing line out of Stuttgart, Germany, that is known worldwide for producing very stylish, unique, and bold fashion and accessories. You may not have heard of Blutsgeschwister (let alone be able to pronounce it) since we’re the only store that carries it in the U.S., so here’s a little introduction–

The name Blutsgeschwister roughly translates to “blood siblings.” Don’t worry, vampire fashion isn’t on the rise. Blutsgeschwister was started in 2001 by childhood friends Christina Hanenberg and Karin Ziegler; the girls have been friends since childhood and consider themselves “blood sisters.”

Blutsgeschwister’s beginnings are the stuff of legend, as you’ll notice reading Hanenberg and Ziegler’s epic portrayal: “…once upon a time there were two girls, whose hearts beat the same pulse and who felt strongly aligned. To show the whole world their spiritual kinship, they took a textile oath, which should weld them together for all time. This happened in 2001 and was the hour of birth of ‘Blutsgeschwister’.” Something perhaps lost in translation in this account is how absolutely adorable their clothes are.

Even though it’s in German, you can still play with the fun opening page and look at their entire selection-which also includes menswear (blutsbruder), childrenswear (blutsbaby), and homewear. The icons you’ll see throughout their website and on many of their products–the -cross, heart and anchor- -stand for belief, love and hope.
