Hi, I’m Liz, the newest member of the writing team at ModCloth. I’ve been here for about a month now and I absolutely love it. Not only am I describing adorable clothes and accessories, but I get to work with an amazing team – everyone is fun, creative, and really passionate about working here. This is definitely the best work environment I ever could have hoped for. I’ve lived in Pittsburgh since I was nine, so I am thrilled to find a fashion writing job that keeps me in the Steel City. (Go Steelers!)
I’ve been a lover of vintage fashion since the first time I played dress up in some of my grandma’s old evening dresses. They were usually way too big but that never stopped me from wearing them – with ill-fitting high heels and the appropriate boa accessory of course. (This is a picture is of me, my brother and my cousins playing dress up in vintage bride and bridesmaids dresses – one of my favorite childhood memories).
My need to dress up still continues, though I hope in a slightly more sophisticated manner. This past weekend I was at an antique store with my mom trying on vintage dress after vintage dress – fortunately for my wallet (but unfortunately for my closet) I limited my purchases to just one dress and one skirt suit. (Be sure to watch for my posts on vintage shopping – my tips for buying and finding vintage clothes will be up tomorrow).
I definitely appreciate new pieces as well; my favorite outfits usually come from a mixture of new and vintage – which really makes ModCloth the perfect place for me to work and shop. I’m so glad to be here!
Thanks for reading, and please let me know about your favorite vintage shopping stories, finds, or tips!

Hey Liz,
Wow, everything is soooo cute! I especially like The Empress Tunic, its adorable! The prices are a bit up there, but its worth it due to the high fashion quality.
