Sequins to Ring in the New Year – There is never a better time then New Year’s Eve to wear a sequined dress! It’s your night to shine, so take it to the extreme. If you’re not ready to go ‘full shimmer,’ try a frock with sequins or beads on the neck and hemline. Vasil says, “Even though sequins are in style, mixing them in an outfit has to be carefully done, especially when adding other accessories. The size and level of spark of the sequins matter. You don’t want to be mistaken for the Christmas tree!”
Kick-Start 2009 - The right shoes will add a kick to any New Year’s Eve celebration! The more unique, daring, and dramatic, the better. Vasil says, “Don’t forget that it is New Years – outdoors it is icy, and the amount of fun you plan to have must be balanced with the height of heels/platform you plan to wear!”
Meddle in Metallic – Vasil wants wants you to know that “metallics are a great accent to the New Year’s outfit. They can showcase your fun and outgoing personality, making you stand out.” Unless you’re attending an 80’s dance party, however, be cautious not to overwhelm the ensemble with metal!
Hair Flair – Clips and headbands are in this season. If you’ve got a simple outfit, go crazy with bold hair accessories! Vasil reminds us that “party hats and Happy New Year type tiaras are so over-done.” Try something new in those tresses!
Lady in Red – Red is a classic choice for the holiday season. However, Vasil warns us to “be careful what other colors you pair your red with. As much as red is always the right Holiday color, you don’t want to be compared to Santa!”
Have fun, and remember to send us your photos! Happy New Year from ModCloth!
