ModCloth recently teamed up with students and faculty from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh’s Fashion and Retail Management program to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. A fundraiser fashion show organized by the Art Institute and featuring ModCloth clothes will be held July 18th, and on July 24th, 10% of ModCloth sales will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (simply enter coupon code Cure 10 at checkout)!
In anticipation of the fashion show, we held a contest for Art Institute Fashion students to style an outfit with a ‘First Day of School’ theme. We’ve narrowed the choices down to two, but now we need your help picking the best! The winning ensemble will be featured in the show and on the ModCloth homepage July 24th!

They are both very great! But I have to say that New York City definitely is a winner for me. It’s very bold and extremely fashionable. You see a lot of people wearing outfits much like the Perisian Scholar, but you don’t see people walking around with such bold outfits like New York City on. The NYC outfit has a much higher chance of actually starting a new trend. I think it would be percieved better on the runway.

Considering its a fundraiser event, there will be people there of all shapes and sizes. If you’re also looking inspire people and, possibly, get them to buy the outfit I’d go with the NYC look. Its bold, colourful, unique and fun and it offers pants.
There are some people who would feel uncomfortable in the Parisian Scholar look (though unbelievably adorable).

Parisian Scholar obviously. beautifully assembled. not too flashy, not too dull. love the gentle mixtures of blue and brown with a tint of beige to lighten it all up. the boots can be taken out. it’s a little too much opacity given for the brown on them.
i agree with most people who say they like NYC for the crazy, daring fashion. it’s just a little troubling to see how flashy it all is above the waist (as i had seen someone else had noted). i would never catch myself wearing that. you couldn’t dare me. there’s just too much material to let the piece flow easy on the eyes, let alone on her poor brittle body parts.
i am not too favorable of NYC. so hence, i shall go with Parisian Scholar. It’s such a beautiful outfit. i would wear that any day.

I have to vote for the NYC Look! The colors are sharp and fit well together! It keeps your interest! Parisian Scholar has a cute idea with the plaid and beret, and I would love to vote for it, as the designer shares my uncommon first name, but sadly, the tights are too much for me, and, I think for most people, with a plaid top AND bottom! Perhaps with a plain colored top with no frills it would be more chic!
