I know this seems like a cruel comment to make toward my mother (whom I love very much, by the way). It’s something you’d expect those horrible teenage girls who are guests on The Jerry Springer Show to say during a striptease in front of a live studio audience. But there’s a small pearl of resentment that’s been building in me for years that I feel I must unleash. Growing up, my mother refused to buy me a white coat – no matter how much I wanted one. She always proclaimed, “It will get dirty,” and if I had a filthy coat, no one would want to be my friend (okay, that part I probably inferred). So it is that mild offense that inspired me to style my Outfit of the Week around The Ivory Tower Coat by Steve Madden. This beautiful belted coat, with its oversized collar and gold-rimmed buttons, makes up for all those disappointing shopping trips with mom.

Great post!! And great outfit, too =)
I love the winter white hat and coat and the pop of red! Great photo!
You look fabulous!
You look awesome…I want that coat!
If you found this when you were 10 I would have bought it for you!
White + Black + Red = LOVE!
I love and want this outfit very much.
I adore this ensemble and I’m sure your mom loves it, too.
Dang, girl. That’s some sass you got! Awesome post!
Nice nice I love it! The orange ring is a nice little touch.
My mom says the same thing. I still have yet to get a white coat.
I bought myself a white coat last year and will never (if I have any say in the matter) go without a white coat again.
Absolutely beautiful!
I do love your outfit, except for the hat with the coat. I think it would have looked much better with your hair swept back into a bun with a red or even teal accessory in it
I have a white suede winter coat with a gray faux-fur lining and a rhinestone-buckle belt. It’s very movie-star chic. I can’t imagine not having a white coat.
Lookin’ good lady! I too just bought myself a white coat.
Stunning. Perfect use of color and accessories.
you look great! awesome post
