There are some street names which make you wonder, “What avenues of thought lead to this name?” And no matter what path you take in endeavoring to court a good reason, no matter how much drive you have, you may never find an answer. But enough with these theoretical musings. You’re here to read this week’s Top Ten, so let’s get this show on the road!
10. Lois Lane, Mercer, Pennsylvania. I bet there are a lot of ’super men’ who live on this street.
9. Bossy Boots Drive, Allen, Texas. Don’t try to tell this drive’s dwellers what to do.
8. Malfunction Junction, Kingston, Arkansas. Remind me never to drive anywhere near this road.
7. Kickapoo Drive, McLean, Illinois. Eww, I don’t want my shoes to smell!
6. Psycho Path, Traverse City, Michigan. That’s one craaazzzzy name!
5. ZZyzx Road, Baker, California. Named on “End of the Alphabet Appreciation Day.”
4. This Ain’t It Road, Dadeville, Alabama. Makes for a good Abbot and Costello skit: “Which road are we looking for?” “This Ain’t it.” “I KNOW this ain’t it, but which road is it?”
3. The intersection of Lonesome Road and Hardup Road, Albany, Georgia. Sounds like a sad place.
2. Magic Pudding Place, Faulconbridge, Australia. Has all the ingredients of a hilarious name.
1. Old Trash Pile Road, Henderson, Louisiana. A personal favorite, they certainly didn’t waste a good name on this street.
Do you live near any amusingly named streets? Or, have you come across any in your travels?

Most Loved Post:

EZ Street
ironically it’s in the ghetto
I used to live on Harmony Hill right off of Neighborly Lane. Leisurely Lane, Beastly Drive. I could go on.

There’s a place in Melbourne (Australia) called “Bionic Ear Lane.” I kid you not.
One of my cross streets is Middle Field Way. A fine name on it’s own, except that it is common for people to accidnetally say Middle Finger. I don’t know why but everyone does it. Most people jst call it Middle Finger now. And once when I was on vacation in No. California we passed a street called No Name Street. My mom has pictures of it somewhere.
I live near a Lois Lane. Also in my area: Drive Way and a surprisingly long Nine Foot Road (good few miles across good old Delaware nothingness).
I’ve been to a Lois Lane!!! And I have a friend who moved away that, ironically, lives on Memory Lane.
My cousin’s address before he and his family moved was Buffalo Speedway in Houston, TX.
I once saw a Laf-a-lot road. It made me smile.

Sasquatch Way made me blink a few times when I first drove past it.
Olivia is right, The Magic Pudding is an Australian children’s book that was written and illustrated by Norman Linsday
and published in 1918
Also, the part of Brisbane that I live in is known as poets corner because a bunch of the streets are named after poets and writers. I also used to live on Karma Av when I lived in Melbourne, which was right next to Nirvana Av, which was the most stolen street sign in Melbourne.
I live in Faulconbridge!! Yay me!
Yeah Magic Pudding was named after Norman Lindsay’s book. All the streets around there are named after characters. It’s all Baranacle Bill Lane and snugglepot drive.
His art gallery is amazing and a great place to spend a day!
Heming Way
My aunt lives on Light Horse Harry Road. xDD
Probably the most interestingly-named street in my city is “Wayne Gretzky Drive”
I don’t live near it now, but when i was in college up in Santa Cruz, Ca there is Younglove Ave, which me and my boyfriend found humorous (we met in college, so it was delightfully corny)
I visit rural North Carolina every year and they always have great road names because the community always names them themselves…. Hannah Branch Road, Shady Grove Drive, Shenandoah Road, etc…. but the best one is Pokemon Corner.
a friend of mine lives on Dark Star road. Shadowy and enchanting, no?
My husband and I laughed when we looked at houses for sale on Ronny Road. I was like.. I don’t think I can buy a house with a street name like that. Haha!
OMG i was going to mention Zzyzx road.. I took a picture of it on my way from Vegas to LA. I thought it was cool
There’s a street called Parental Avenue. I just think its funny. Also, another good one is Easy Street. I got into a wreck on Easy Street haha
Paint Your Wagon Trail in Cave Creek AZ!
I was visiting family in Naples, FL this summer and they have some great ones!
My favorite is Rattlesnake Hammock Rd. followed by Tamiami (pronounced Tammy-ammy, from what I’ve heard) Trail.
I always get a smile out of Brevity Ln here in Nashville (and yes, it’s a small side street).
There’s a road in the next town over called Easy street. always smile when I see it
We have “Z” Street…. strangely not followed by any other letters or anything else just a random “Z” lol
On an Off note to cheer up your day lol I once was driving down to a friends out and we stopped t a light there was a sign going to a street in front and it said “Cemetery” and below it there was a sign that said “Dead End ” hahahahaha =D
I used to have a client who lived on Snowball Lane in Santa Claus, Indiana. Apparently all the streets names in this town have a holiday theme.
One summer I worked near a Dead Cat Alley in Woodland, CA. For the life of me I can’t understand why that would inspire a street name — with an official sign even!
I live near a Bumpus Rd. I can never pass it without laughing to myself.
I’ve gotten lost on Grief Parkway, before trying to find my way to a Panic! At the Disco concert with my best friend. It gave us grief because we ended up way far back in line and didn’t get good seats. =/
There’s a “Kangaroo Court” in Raleigh, NC.
Zzyzx! Saw it coming home from Vegas. We actually put it on a list for future song names we like. Hahahha
