The naughty schoolgirl look hasn’t been cool for a while, if ever. Neither are bare midriffs. That’s why I’ve reworked Amber Stevens’ outfit sans the socks and sheer top. Instead, I’ve sassed it up with sequins and studs. I started with A Stud-y in Chic Blazer and the Sequin-tially Essential Skirt layered over the Galactica Top. Then I accessorized with the Postcards from the Wedge shoes, Knot That Into You Clutch and the Magnum Opus Bracelet. I like the way the different textures play off of each other. And when you take off your blazer, you still have some bling with the nice fringe on the shoulders of the tee.
What do you think about Amber’s outfit? How about the ModCloth remix?

What do I think of Amber’s outfit? I think it looks GREAT- on Amber! How about the MC remix? Now that would look much better on ME! Since I weigh a bit more than Amber does, lol!
Amber looks like she stepped out of a bad clueless remake. That Galactica Top is amazing though and blazers are so in right now. ModCloth remix FTW.
I like the ModCloth remix, but I think I might have tried to keep the girlish spirit, but switched the weird bare-midriff outfit for something like the Stealth Forces Dress. With the right dress or skirt/tight combination, the knee socks with heels does work.
I think the pure white socks were a bad choice on Amber’s part… But I don’t have a problem with the rest of it. It look youthful and party ready. I think the modcloth blazer choice is too bulky. Sleeves are too long and loose. The youthful look could easily be turned from teacher’s pet to just simply teacher..and we don’t want that. I like the skirt you picked. It’s has glam and youth while still covering some skin. And I appreciate that. Cheers!
I’m sorry but that skirt makes the mannequin look like it has big hips and a bit of a pot belly. :/
I do love knee socks with heels and grown up dresses, but that’s the only thing I like about Amber’s outfit.

I love the ModCloth remix… but doesn’t ModCloth sell knee/thigh socks and have models wearing them with heels? I do have to agree that the bare midriff looks yuck and Alex is right about the bad Clueless remake!
Hi Bea, Yes, we do sell knee-high socks, and I definitely like them a lot of the time. I just didn’t like the way they were paired with the sheer top Amber is wearing in the photo.
