Shine of the Times Dress + Champagne Cocktail

If you’re the hostess of a holiday-themed party, why not carry the theme from your closet to a cute matching cocktail recipe? After scouring the web, taking suggestions, and flipping through a few publications, I’ve compiled a handy little list of some fairly simple, diverse cocktails with their recipes. Along with each cocktail is a corresponding cocktail dress inspired by the drink at hand (or in hand)!

Champagne Cocktail
From CNBC.com

  • Champagne
  • Angostura bitters
  • Sugar cubes
  • Lemon peel (optional)
  • Cognac (optional)

Directions: Place a small sugar cube in the bottom of a champagne glass. Add two dashes of Angostura Bitters and fill the glass with champagne. This drink is sometimes garnished with a lemon peel and can be fortified with a small float of cognac. With the simple addition of a bitters-soaked sugar cube, this cocktail will have your guests bubbling with delight!

Loft Party Dress + Caroler’s Confection

Caroler’s Confection
From Cocktail Times

  • 5 ounces freshly brewed hot coffee

  • 1/2 ounce coffee brandy

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a coffee mug and top with whipped cream.

Dreaming of Dahlias Dress + Ginger Candied Martini

  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 3 ounces Grey Goose vodka
  • 1 ounce pineapple juice

Directions: Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass.

Jill of All Trades Dress in CEO + Gingerbread Apple Crisp

Gingerbread Apple Crisp
From Cocktail Times

  • 2 ounces Bacardi Big Apple rum
  • 2 ounces apple juice
  • Splash of lemon juice
  • Graham crackers

Directions: Place 1/2 cup of simple syrup and 4 tablespoons of graham cracker crumbs on separate plates. Dip outside rim of martini glass into simple syrup, then into graham cracker crumbs several times to ensure coverage. Set aside. In a cocktail shaker, combine rum, gingerbread syrup, apple juice and lemon juice. Shake with ice in a cocktail shaker and strain into rimmed martini glass. Garnish with red apple slice.

World’s Fair Dress + Mistletoe Kiss

Mistletoe Kiss
From Cocktail Times

  • 1 1/2 ounce Smirnoff cranberry flavored vodka
  • 1 1/2 ounce pineapple juice

Goldfinch Dress + Pear and Sparkling Cider Cocktail

Film Festival Dress + Slippery Santa

Slippery Santa
From Cocktail Times

Okay, so this one isn’t a cocktail per se, but it’s simple and looked so interesting, I had to include it!

  • 1 ounce Blavod Black Vodka
  • 1/2 ounce Cinnamon Schnapps
  • Whipped cream
  • Maraschino cherry

Directions: Pour vodka and cinnamon schnapps in a shot glass and top with whipped cream and garnish with a maraschino cherry (or a red hot candy).

Of all the recipes and dresses, I personally can’t pick a favorite, they’re all so different! I’m torn between the Warm Hazelnut Toddy and the Champagne Cocktail; both are extremely simple and look delicious! Is there one that you can see yourself re-creating? Or is there a cocktail recipe you’d like to share with the rest of the Mod Community?

I am such a huge fan of ModCloth. Have been for years. Each added piece is as beautiful as the next, and I sit at my computer screen and drool over them all. Timeless, chic, always equalling mad perfection. Love it as always, and the blog is no different!!
I adore this post, showing the details of the dress and matching it with a drink. So much fun, thanks for sharing as always. I’m the biggest fan!

I love this! Those cocktails are perfect, I’m SO whipping up the Champagne Cocktail and the Warm Hazelnut Toddy… though given that Christmas is in the summer here, the Toddy may not be the most appropriate drink, lol!
