Style Glossary: Chambray Mimosa?

Hello beautiful ModLovers! This week we’ll be discussing chambray – my choice for spring’s essential fabric. Chambray is a lightweight, breathable fabric, made with a white weft thread and a colored warp thread (often blue). It’s usually made of cotton, though rayon and silk are sometimes blended in.

In its early years, chambray was the choice fabric for the essential “workman’s shirt” (which lead to the term, ‘blue collar worker’). Today, chambray has been making its presence known across the pages of ModCloth.com! Our Bake Sale Skirt and Bake Sale Jacket by Mink Pink are singularly responsible for sparking my love of chambray. What’s your take on it?

Do you have a fashion term you’d like brought to light? Let me know! Thanks for reading, and happy shopping!
