I’ve always been obsessed with prints. The more, the merrier! Colors, shapes, prints on prints, trompe l’oeil, fake boomboxes on bags, I’m there. More recently I’ve also been playing with adding more texture to my outfits. Sitting here now, I am recalling wardrobe choices from earlier this morning in which I opted to slip a sheath day dress on, but it needed something more… so I wore the Mascara Scarf for just the perfect addition of texture and volume!
In the midst of getting carried away… Back to the outfit at hand. While browsing ModCloth, I instantly fell in love with the print, cut and interestingly voluminous pockets on the Fleur-de-Skirt by Rojas. To be honest, I almost paired it with the Animalusion Top, but with advice from a few family members, my better judgement prompted me to keep looking. I soon came across the Some Like It Chic Top, it was full of texture, volume, and has an interesting off center faux-button up front. I also thought it would be different to wear it tucked in, even though the lower details became hidden I wanted to showcase its versatility, and think it was worth it!
The bright Lita Clutch in Luna, added a punch of color and picked up a few small hints of turquoise in the Fleur-de-Skirt. To further elevate my outfit, I chose to stand on the Step Right Up Wedges in Mocha. Together, the Lady Pharaoh Bracelet and Lucy Locket Bracelet added a textural twist to my wrist. Lastly, the pièce de résistance, to top off my outfit I chose to sport the Cover Girl’s Derby in Sepia!
What do you think? Will you turn up the volume this summer, try out a little texture and play with more prints?
