I haven’t ever thought to do it, but this girl, found on Copenhagen Cycle Chic, has put an outfit together with two of ModCloth’s favorite things: pencil skirts and plaid. And, she’s eco-friendly to boot, tooling around on her bicycle! She’s done a great job pairing the bright patterned plaid to a sleek, svelte, basic black pencil skirt. With tights to ward off the chill and versatile little sneaks, this girl has organized an outstanding outfit. How she bikes in that skirt, I don’t know, but I’d sure love to find out so I can bike around the ‘Burgh in cuter clothes.

What’s your favorite way to bike in style? Or, how do you pair your plaid?

Biking in style is so easy! You can bike in anything you can walk in – dresses, heels, anything!

Besides, the breeze feels nice on bare legs (or legs with tights).

You guys should DEFINITELY do a “how to copy this style” thing with ModCloth products. Please. Maybe Grapes of Plaid Top with Gattaca Skirt? And Flipside Tights in Similars? Plus tennies, and good to go!

I adore Copenhagen Cycle Chic. My dad sent me the link to it about a year ago, but somehow it dropped off my radar… thanks for reminding me, ModCloth!

i am a bicycle commuter and rarely have to tweek outfits to make them rider-friendly. wearing a long skirt? bunch to one side and tie in a knot. miniskirt? pair it with some leggings. just make sure nothing can be caught in the spokes, and dress as ye please!
