The Occasion: Movie night with the gals
The Place: Your best bud’s apartment
The color: Goldenrod

For a laid back night like this, try wearing the calming color of goldenrod. Just the right amount of sassy and soothing, goldenrod will give your outfit a feel-good flair, just like the evening you’ll spend watching your favorite films with your favorite friends. The same color family as buttery popcorn, goldenrod will have you looking simply delicious!

The Occasion: A Wine Tasting
The Place: A Vineyard
The Color: Mulberry

Classy, yet fresh, mulberry is a great way to look poised and pretty at a fun event of the fancier variety. The hue of a fine Chianti or a tasty Cabernet, mulberry is a great way to add a refined, smooth touch to your look. Likely to earn you a place among the upper echelon of style mavens, mulberry will definitely show your perfect palate for fashion.

The Occasion: Being A Live Audience Member
The Place: TV Studio
The Color: Mint

Even though you might disappear if you hop in front of the green screen, mint is a great color to wear next time you’re a member of a TV show’s live audience. In mint, you’ll be noticeable enough for all your friends and family at home to pick you out as the camera pans over the crowd. You’ll stand out, yes, but your look won’t be overbearing, so you’ll be safe from MC when he’s looking to pick on someone.

The Occasion: Book Club Meeting
The Place: The Cafe
The Color: Kingfisher Blue

Symbolically, blue is a color that conveys intelligence and confidence. Since you’re bound to be the brightest chic in any setting, blue is the perfect color for your next book club meeting. Not just any ordinary blue will do, however, because you’re not just an ordinary gal! So, Kingfisher blue, a rich, unique, slightly teal shade of blue is the perfect solution for a look that’s smart in both stylish and symbolic realms.

The Occasion: A hot date
The Place: An Italian restaurant
The Color: Scarlet

You’ll want to look as vivacious and alluring as possible on a hot date, so don’t forget to wear your scarlet. A color so bold and so passionate that you’ll look simply irresistible, scarlet is the perfect way to compliment your flirtatious side. Though the Italian restaurant may be full of red items, from the rose on the table to the marinara on your dish, nothing, no nothing will compare to your effervescent look in so courageous a color.

It’s fantastic that ModCloth is encouraging color. Especially for me — I’ve been in a black and charcoal gray rut for awhile. D:

Mulberry is definatly one of my favourites. Along with Goldenrod and Mint. I wear these colours as often as i can, and always get the strange looks from those who think its too outrageous. I think we should all encourage colour, because life is meant to be full of colour. Great Job ModCloth !

Colors in Fall and Winter are exceptionally good fun. I adore Fuchsia dresses and I have a Mulberry winter coat but I have had my eyes on a goldenrod sweater with a lovely Edith Head inspired style. Yummy.
