Who: Stephanie, http://thosetricks.tumblr.com
What: Dress = Barney’s (purchased at Buffalo Exchange for $30)
Belt = Purchased at thrift store in Bellingham, WA $5
Necklace = Thrift store in Dallas, $1
Cuban Heel Hose = Buffalo Exchange, (new $7.50)
Where: Various locations (see above)
How Much: Outfit total of $43.5
When I use It: Worn last night to the premiere of a play a friend and I did costumes for: “Crystal City 1969.” The Cuban heel hose played well into the Latin themed evening and several ladies asked me about them.
Shopping Tips: When browsing, I look for great fabrics that jump out at me color-, pattern-, or- texture-wise. I always pull out unusual and unique items that maybe don’t have great “hanger appeal” to try on. These items are often cheaper and on sale. When on – sometimes the hanger was right, other times it is a creative treasure. At this point in my life I have (mostly) learned never to buy pieces that don’t fit quite right (even if I love it!), pieces that need major alteration (I never actually do it), or pieces for another season (usually by the time that season comes, the item is not fresh fashion to me anymore).
