I’m Not a Layer, I Just Crush a Lot

A little creativity goes a long way when it comes to re-styling your wardrobe for the winter, which Melanie of Idée Géniale clearly knows. When I stumbled across her picture, something looked familiar… The Hours Dress! That floral frock had been hanging out in my closet for weeks, and I had yet to figure out how to fashion it for the forty-degrees-and-below weather — until now!

I absolutely love the idea of taking lightweight cotton frocks and turning them into jumpers. Skillful layering is key to braving the elements while also looking elegant, which she accomplished by donning a white blouse underneath her posy-printed piece, then adding inky black tights, a woven belt, and the most adorable taupe heels ever seen! The end result is effortless, exquisite, and provides more warmth than the darling dress would have alone.
