March has been a magical month here on the ModLife blog, where we’ve featured four remarkable women who are making history right now, every day. We’ve heard Sarah Bender of the Peace Corps address what it’s like to leave everything you know and work in a new country and culture, Margaret Schlass of One Woman Farm speak about starting a CSA food cooperative, Jessica Valenti of Feministing.com talk about giving young women an online platform to voice their ideas and opinions, and had the opportunity to feature Sheena Matheiken of The Uniform Project, who has raised enough money to send 167 children to school for a year.
While we only had space to feature four women this month, we know there are many, many more women who make a difference everyday. So, in March of 2011, we will choose to highlight women that you, our readers, have nominated! Do you know an inspirational, aspirational family member or friend who is making a difference? Send us an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with her name, a brief description of her work, and why you think she is making the world a better place.
And remember: we don’t have to save all the celebrating for March. We can applaud women all year long!
