On January 12, when the shocking news of Haiti’s catastrophic earthquake broke, I immediately searched for ways to help the recovery efforts and victims. Luckily, ModCloth was on the same exact page.
In addition to two highly successful fundraisers, ModCloth spent the last month participating in Soles4Souls, an innovative program that facilitates donations to people in desperate need of shoes. ModCloth collected over 150 pairs of gently worn shoes, which will directly benefit Haitians in need of footwear.
Take a moment to think about the many pairs of soles in your closet — from the glittery brogues to your high school tennis shoes. Are any of them dispensable? If so, Soles4Souls could use your charitable donation!
Soles4Souls accepts all types of shoes, including steel toe boots, flip-flops, and high heels! The only stipulation is that each donated pair should be lightly worn shoes you would still wear, free of holes or tears, with a solid sole.
Interested in helping Soles4Souls? Peruse its website for a number of fun options, like hosting a shoe drive, or celebrating a freshly organized closet when you drop off your donation to a nearby participating location. Also, be sure to check out the recently launched Clothes4Souls, a division of Soles4Souls that facilitates donations of unused clothing and gently worn jeans and coats to people around the world in need!
