Outfit of the Week: All Dressed Up with Somewhere to Go

Meagan

Between being a full-time college student, juggling two jobs, and working with the ModSquad, our Summer Marketing Intern, Meagan, rarely has the opportunity to trade in her professional business attire and comfy clothes for a night on the town ensemble. When Meagan does manage to schedule a few hours of drinks and dancing with friends, she ensures her savvy style is in full effect for a night of well-deserved fun!

“I’m on the shorter side, so tall heels are a definite must,” said Meagan. The Kabuki Heel, with its walkable wooden platform and intricate peep toe detail, provided the stylish groundwork for Meagan’s evening look. From there, it seemed imperative to select separates of an equal allure — naturally, the vibrant Miss Firecracker Skirt was an obvious choice, “because of the awesome red color,” said Meagan. The sophisticated Aristocracy Top offered a subdued, traditional contrast to the statement-making heels and skirt, and given its flowy silhouette and comfort, could be a blouse Meagan “wears again to the office or class.”

If you’re wondering what Meagan’s key is to sprucing up an outfit, we’re okay with letting the cat out of the bag. In one word, Meagan’s secret is accessories, which is why she added a black belt around her waist, the pretty Petite Peacock Bangle to her wrist, and the “rock ‘n’ roll” Industrial Revolution Bag across her shoulder.

What do you think, ModReaders? Do you have any guidelines or tips when it comes to style on the city streets?

Cool outfit but the green background against the neon red skirt makes my eyes cross and my stomach cringe. Besides, a more subtle background would have also made the skirt color pop more.
