’50s Days of Summer

Some say summer is loveliest on the West Coast, while others maintain that this season is best enjoyed in the East, or the South, or Midwest. We’d argue that summer is the most breathtaking when it’s in an entirely different place — vintage magazines! We ran across these 1940s – 50′s issues of Harper’s Bazaar, and just had to share them with you all!

Can you say, ‘outfit inspiration’?

About Jenn

Jenn's first career aspiration was to be a dinosaur. After her kindergarten teacher informed her that couldn't happen, she decided she would be the next best thing: a writer. Aside from writing, Jenn loves chambray shirts, all cacti, and good typography.

talk about romantic, glamorous and spectacular. those covers are sophisticated way better than any cover art we see these days.

I love all the outfits! Such lovely portrayals. Style covers were so much better back then…like most things. My husband and I swear we would go live back in the 50s 60s if we could time travel. ;)

Last year my calendar was of Art Deco Harper’s Bazaar covers; these are a lovely reminder!
