Obsolete Fashion: Matching Jammies

Well, ModLovers, after a recent Google search led me to website after website devoted exclusively to the sale of matching pajamas, I must report that the great tradition of his-and-her matching pajamas is not obsolete, but very much alive and well!

Even so, no family pajama package of today can beat the vintage advertisements above, which showcase the “His ‘n’ Hers Warm Machine-Washable Underwear” and the “Flame-Resistant Sleepwear for Everyone in the Family: In Festive Red with Candy Stripes.”

What do you think? Can a couple’s love be strengthened by the power of matching thermal underwear? Is the family that dresses identically less dysfunctional? Can the solution to our relationship qualms be answered by donning cozy, matching flannel? Would our world be a better place? Cast your vote, and/or leave a comment below!

Tell us: Are you bananas for matching pajamas?

both my bf and i have onesies/longjohns from the same store but they aren’t the exact same design and are totally different patterns. totally matching is a step too far.

it’s the coldest winter in decades where i am so bring on the pyjamas

i love the “bananas for matching pajamas”…is it a reference to “bananas in pajajmas” or simply a coincidence? :)

yikes! I’m not much of a matching pajama set person to begin with (usually a big t-shirt will do!) so I would definitely not go out of my way to match my jammies with my guy’s! Those photos are hilarious, hhaha :D

When little kids do it, it’s adorable. Adults, not so much.

I haven’t been able to wear a sleeper since the time I had to cut myself out of the one I borrowed from my mother, due to falling asleep whilst playing with silly puddy.
