Three weeks ago, we announced our first-ever ModCloth Video Contest! Shortly thereafter, submissions began to roll in, and we found ourselves amazed by the unbelievable creativity and effort of each and every Style Short.
Each Style Short impressed us in a unique way, and all of the submissions deserve a serious round of applause! Be sure to watch all of the ModCloth Style Shorts (over 50!)submittedhere. Choosing our top three favorite Style Shorts was no easy task — in fact, it took a lot of consideration and deliberation by a number of ModCloth judges. Lucky for us, deciding on the winner is ultimately up to you! Please cast your vote for your favorite ModCloth Style Short below. how awesome. I really loved them all a lot. I voted for fairy dust. I think the first two especially definitely had a LOT of work put into them. I love how very commercial-like the third one is and think that’s awesome. It was hard to decide!! I really felt the first was the most unique though. It was adorable at the end too. haha.

The girl in the third video was so real! And her ideas about how you are confident when you feel beautiful are brilliant but simple! I really like it because she was natural. Spread happy was also pretty good but I definitely have to give my vote to tambowers. Good job girls!
The First one is the most creative one by far. The third one is just a girl talking, good speech but where is the sheer creativity there?

What I like about mine is I did the artwork, made my freaky earrings, and gave my heart felt opinion about ModCloth. And I REALLY enjoy the fun idea behind the second one! The first one is cute… And all of the videos entered into the contest were great in their own unique way! I’m just glad I got to have fun with this opportunity and would like to thank ModCloth for choosing my video as one of the top 3!
They all were good. But the 3rd one was more creative. No special affects were needed to get the point across. It was a girl being honest and speaking from her heart. Not to mention the message it gives to our young girls of today. Believe in yourself, that is all that matters. The 3rd one gets my vote all the way. I thought it was very unique.

The third one is unique and simple. After reading the “about us” that is what Modcloth is about. Indie designers and classic simple statements. The world needs more of that. Our daughters can benefit from learning that now.
Go for it Melissa! I used some antique miniature spoons for the top and bought some Barbies from a second hand store to cut up and practice on. I really like the femininity they represent. The shock factor is pretty cool when you go out too!
I’m so sad that the first one is losing, it’s my favorite because it shows the clothing from the store, the creativity and it’s filmed by just two ordinary teen girls with really big hearts! Lets VOTE IT UP!
I love them all! The effects in the second one were really done well, and I think that the third one had realy lovely scenery. But I think I have to go with the first one! The plotline really captured my attention effectively! and I would love *hint*hint* for modcloth to sell something with those fairies on it, because I would definitley buy it ;D
well pretty much anyone can walk around and speak something in a video. thats why i like the first one, or the second one. It’s the effort and genuine creativity that really shines through in the end.
I found a way to vote as many times as I want by turning off cookies, so it seems like this way of voting isn’t measuring what people think is the best video. I wouldn’t be surprised if some videos have more votes than they even have views.

I love the message in the third video. I thought it was simple and direct. Plus, I feel it reflects the modcloth shopping experience. (So many styles, so many choices.)
However, Fairy Dust truly captures how I feel when a modcloth purchase is delivered to my door. The excitement of a new dress, and peeling back that little mushroom sticker and tissue paper is like opening a present every time. Even though I know I bought it myself…it still feels like magic!
I like all of them…this is so hard! I actually voted for the second initially based on the level of creativity and obvious time and effort, but I think the first and third might take “ModCloth” into consideration a little more. You know, the feelings the company evokes and its messages. I hesitate to favor the third because of its simplicity compared to the others, but hey, maybe that’s what makes it shine.

It would be good if ModCloth could check if people were voting for themselves multiple times by turning off the cookies (just since there’s a lot at stake and wouldn’t be fair to the other girls).

It was already weird how a couple of those videos were chosen and now there’s cheating involved? So much for Modcloth.com credibility, it’s pretty to set a cheatfree voting system and none of these could have been done… these disappointed people might be taking their shopping someplace else.
This contest has made me lose faith in any future ModCloth contests. Thanks a lot everybody cheating, way to ruin it in the future for the rest of us. ModCloth needs to step in, turn off the voting and just select the video they think best fits their company and they would like to use. Enough with this back and forth and cheating. Getting $500 gift card for cheating? Really shows where your talent is and what little respect you have for what you did. Makes me glad I did not enter this contest.
Yeah, no clue how C managed it, no doubt some kind of hack or enough people willing to vote for her over and over. It was pretty crazy to watch her percentage just keep going up like there was no stopping it. I’m there with you on being disappointed. At least the winner will know it wasn’t their video that actually one, just their skill in cheating that claimed them the price (whoever the winner will be, but I’m pretty sure we know by now with that percentage still rising).
Wow. Lots of sore losers on here. I voted for “C” and helped spread the word to my friends via Facebook, etc. Yes, I know the winner. And no, they did not come close to cheating. They simply put together one hell of a grassroots campaign to get people to vote. News of the contest was all over the place in our community. So if you didn’t win, stop being a sore loser. Face up to the fact you simply got legitimately out voted and out smarted on how to market your video.

As much as everyone would of liked modcloth to have done the right thing it doesn’t look like they did. They let the person who cheated the most win. Oh well at least she knows she’s good at something.
I really don’t think people are being fair here. You can’t say which video required the most work, because each film had certain aspects that called for more detail. I would say that every contestant put forth an equal amount of work. The fairy one had to focus on the art involved in making it. Happy had a lot of scenery changes. It probably took them a while to film in every location, then edit it together. Tam had to create dialogue and record herself talking. Everyone put forth a great deal of effort, and I think all the participants deserve to be treated with respect.

I liked the 2nd and 3rd, but #3 really spoke to me. No fancy editing, just a genuine girl with a funky style showing us who she is. LOVED it.
