After graduating from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Communications, Kelly found herself wearing many stylish hats at the Andy Warhol Museum. She was a Gallery Attendant, Special Events Coordinator, and Warhol Archives Volunteer, and she acquired some amazing work-related stories. At the Warhol Museum, Kelly was able to meet Lou Reed, of the Velvet Underground, read original Marcel Duchamp letters sent to Warhol, behold an authentic pair of specially designed Keith Haring sunglasses, and get in on an inside joke between John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and Andy Warhol (which involved a somewhat controversial autograph on a Beatles’ Christmas album!).
After the Warhol, and a few years working at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Kelly began to experiment with jewelry design – a hobby she enjoys to this day. By combining her love of thrifting and scouring estate and yard sales with a penchant for all-things vintage, Kelly designs dazzling accessories built upon unique found objects, including pen knives passed down from her elegant grandmother and various other charming knickknacks. Below, you’ll see a photo of one of Kelly’s most recent creations – a simple, yet stunning, red glass ball encased by brass leaves upon a dainty golden chain.
