A Dress for All Seasons

We know that just because it’s autumn here, doesn’t mean it’s leaf-crunching weather elsewhere in the world. So, thanks to a suggestion from customer Keaven Willa, we’re kicking off this week’s worldwide festivities with a style challenge! We asked the ModStylists to style one dress for all four seasons, be it the balmy days of summer or cold winter nights.

Naturally, the fearless foursome accepted, and picked the Afternoon Company Dress as their starting point. Here’s how they did, and their personal style advice!

CRISP, COOL CLIMATES – If you’re experiencing the same brisk, leaf-crunching weather we are, then consider jackets and boots your new best friends. Staying warm was just as important to Chelsey as showing off the Afternoon Company Dress’ classic, A-line silhouette, so she recruited the military-inspired Major Style Jacket. Gold-tinged accessories, sheer, slouchy socks, and the knee-high New England Fall Boot finished off her cool, casual ensemble.

SNOW DAZE – Stomping around in the snow? Layers are the key to keeping cute in chilly weather! For extra coziness, Jess layered the Cherry Truffle Socks over the Nighttime on the Terrace Tights before slipping her feet into the incredible Boot-a-licious. Snow-inspired accessories like the Young Victoria Necklace and glimmering Head in the Stars Hat capped off her winning winter look!

Crushing after that bag or boots? Learn more about each item here!

SPRING AWAKENING – So it’s finally thawed enough for you to ditch your tights, but not yet warm enough to go without a jacket? No problem. Nicole solves this seasonal conundrum by belting the Retro Revival Cape over her dress, and played off the budding colors of her surroundings with the cheerful Sock It to Me in Respect, Words Can’t Express Heel, and Un-Teal the End of Time Bag.

WALKING ON SUNSHINE – For those of you lucky enough to be basking in the hot sun right now, Amy suggests wearing the Afternoon Company Dress as is! With her hair tied back with the Through the Wire Headband in Red, and punchy accessories like the Got to Be Real Wedges and Scarlet Lippy Satchel, she’s ready for an afternoon of reading by the seaside.

Do you have any tips for transitioning your wardrobe from season to season?

As a blogger living on the opposite side of the world to Modcloth – I can appreciate this post! I think the spring look is my favourite, she looks gorgeous!

I just styled up the Selective Potential dress for an end of winter/spring look :) http://bonjourbbydoll.blogspot.com/2010/09/sweetheart.html
