Who: Kathy from 5-6-7-8 Vintage
What: ’50s – ’60s floral duck and down quilt
Where: I found this in a flea market in London. I arrived there quite late, so most of the best stuff had been snapped up already. When I saw this floral print peaking out from underneath one of the piles of clothing, I grabbed it! I think the vendor was quite confused by the fact that I was buying a feather quilt on one of the hottest days of the year!
How Much: £3, which is approx $4.50
When I Use it: We’ve only got gravel and weeds in our yard, so I really wanted something padded to sit on for picnics and sunbathing. This seemed perfect. I’m also going to use it to cover my sofa in winter, it’s much more beautiful than the current throw.
Shopping Tips: I think I’m probably not picky enough when I go thrifting, forever buying things that need taking up or in, and am drawn to anything with a print. I read somewhere that you should only ever buy something if it was nicer than the clothes you are currently wearing (basically, go shopping wearing your favorite outfit) and have been aiming to do this whenever possible.

that is great advice you passed along at the end – only buy something if it is nicer than the clothes you have on. Now I want to get all dressed up and go to the thrift stores!
Love this picture. Adore this blog! So happy to have stumbled upon this little piece of blog heaven :) Paris in Pink
Find one friend who loves to go thrift shopping as much as you do, who also wears a COMPLETELY different size than you do. Trust me you both have more fun that way.
I love the pink dress against the print of the quilt, so pretty!
