Who: Katrina of The Demure Muse
What: Vintage 1950′s scarlet red sailor skirt
Where: Goodwill in Seattle, Washington
How Much: $6.99
When I Use It: “If I wake up feeling a little under the weather, I like to throw on this skirt to add color and cheeriness to my outfit. Not only is it absolutely adorable with the sailor button detail, but it’s also extremely practical (there are pockets!). Did I mention that the high-waisted fit and built-in buckle are extremely figure flattering? What more could a girl ask for?”
Shopping Tips: “Whenever shopping vintage, it’s good to keep an open mind. It’s great to envision the ‘perfect piece’ but it may not be realistic to find an item that fits your description to a ‘T.’ By staying open to trying on similar pieces in different prints, colors, or cuts, you never know what kinds of treasures you’ll end up uncovering!”
