  12. Kelly 12/04/2010 at 9:39 am #

Congrats Carrie, that’s pretty clever. Not to be a Debbie downer and like I said, that’s a clever name, but weren’t we supposed to come up with a Holiday themed name? Am I just reading too much into it?

    • Alison 12/04/2010 at 11:31 am #

      I thought the same thing

    • Julie 12/04/2010 at 1:26 pm #

Bitter Betty perhaps, but I agree Kelly. I thought the same thing. Cute name indeed, but not “Holiday Edition.” Oh well.

    • jessica 12/06/2010 at 2:15 pm #

Mmmm. I didn’t think so. They say the dress was ‘festive’, but no mention that that had to be in the title. Now whether the dress is really a ‘festive holiday’ dress, that’s a different story…

    • Shanna Carroll 12/07/2010 at 12:11 am #

they never said it was suppose to be a holiday name, just a name for it, it just happened to be a holiday contest.

  13. Rachel C 12/04/2010 at 2:54 pm #

So cute!!! I couldn’t think of anything good, lol. :)

  14. Bubbette 12/04/2010 at 7:01 pm #

boo, boo…j/k! Enjoy your new dress, Carrie!!

  15. Norma 12/04/2010 at 10:07 pm #

    ha! I love it :)

I sometimes wish that the names of the clothing would be printed somewhere on them so that everyone could read them. They’re so clever!

  16. Ash 12/05/2010 at 12:55 am #

Aw I wanted to call it champagne ruffles… but that’s a good one!

  17. Emma 12/05/2010 at 7:43 am #

thats not a good name. I thought my one Pom Tulip was good or Golden Dusk.

    • Fading Kat 12/06/2010 at 4:04 pm #

You’re just sour you didn’t win… I think it’s pretty clever and a great play on words – which most of ModCloth’s names are.

    • Shanna Carroll 12/07/2010 at 12:16 am #

eh Fading Kat, she can have her own opinion, since when is it a crime. I thought my names for the dress were good to, but just not what modcloth wanted, that doesn’t make me a sore loser, it just means i have different ideas in mind, and im different for not being like OMG CONGRATS Carrie like everyone else basically!!!!

    • Fading Kat 12/07/2010 at 12:51 am #

I think there’s showing that you disagree while still being a graceful loser and then just being sour… (I lost as well) and while yes, I thought my names were clever… obviously they did not think they were as clever.

You can be different and still be gracious and not completely negative.

  18. Carol 12/05/2010 at 1:05 pm #

CONGRATS CARRiE..THATS A VERY CUTE NAME..iTS SO ModCloth.

  19. Lauren 12/05/2010 at 1:23 pm #

I like the name but you guys need to cool it with the puns! cute and clever names? All for it- but less is more in this case.

    • Terri 12/05/2010 at 7:52 pm #

I like it! And I enjoy the pun-ny names, too. Great choice! I didn’t read that it was supposed to be a holiday-themed name. It was a contest to kick off the countdown to the holiday season, but the name didn’t have to be a holiday name. Congrats, Carrie!

  20. Jessica 12/05/2010 at 8:07 pm #

I agree with Lauren, I think pun names are cute once in awhile but there are so many its getting old. I enjoy names that speak more to the style of the item or an occasion you would wear it for.

  21. Lyndsay 12/06/2010 at 8:47 am #

    That’s an adorable name! Congrats!

In the spirit of the name, I’d like to give my thoughts on puns: I think they make the dresses more memorable and even bad puns, which make me cringe, won’t stop me from buying the dress. So pun away IMHO.

  22. Rocelia 12/06/2010 at 10:50 pm #

Congrats Carrie! Wear your dress proud!

  23. Joy 12/07/2010 at 12:23 am #

    PUNS RULE!!!!!
They’re one of my favorite parts of this website.

  24. Nita 12/14/2010 at 10:56 am #

Ah, isn’t that an OPI colour? Nice name nonetheless. :)

  25. Flora 12/15/2010 at 8:25 pm #

    lol. So glad I didn’t win… I actually hate this dress. :)
Good name. Nice pun. It really takes a lot of effort and a great wealth of knowledge of language to create clever puns. You have to be pretty intelligent.

  26. Michelle 12/16/2010 at 1:52 pm #

Congrats! Beautiful dress, I hope it serves you well!

Puns really are the best part of this site tho (aside from the merchandise, of course). They make me smile and sometimes even laugh so that I come to look just for the names sometimes!
