  3. Julie (ModCloth) 12/21/2010 at 2:47 pm #

These are all superb! I can’t even pick a favorite I like them all so much. Great job, all!

  4. Amanda 12/21/2010 at 2:57 pm #

The names are very cute. I can’t imagine having to sort through the hundreds of entries….But I really don’t understand the “I Think I Cane” name at all….

    • Randi M 12/21/2010 at 3:28 pm #

I think I can, I think I can is from The Little Engine That Could (train) and Candy Cane because of the stripes :) pretty clever.

    • Chelsea 12/21/2010 at 3:32 pm #

The dress looks like a conductor of trains outfit a bit and there was a story about train that said I Think I Can I Think I can. And the dress looks like a candy cane :)

    • Rebekah 12/21/2010 at 3:33 pm #

It’s combining “I think I can” (like the Little Engine That Could) and a Candy “Cane” since the dress is red and white striped like the delicious holiday treat. :)

    • Rachel 12/21/2010 at 4:19 pm #

      Like a Candy Cane :)

    • Katie 12/21/2010 at 4:56 pm #

It’s a play on the phrase “I think I can” but with cane, like a candy cane :)

    • Lindsay 12/21/2010 at 8:46 pm #

      like candy cane.

    • Amanda 12/21/2010 at 9:33 pm #

I didn’t understand what it had to do with the dress (besides the candy cane thing), but I guess it does sort of reference a train conductor too…..

  5. Al 12/21/2010 at 3:08 pm #

The names are cute. You always pick puns, though!

  11. Kahlan 12/21/2010 at 6:00 pm #

these are cute but i agree i think it would be better if the weren’t all puns, just for future reference

  12. McKenzie 12/21/2010 at 6:27 pm #

  13. Emily Lewis 12/21/2010 at 7:07 pm #

Cute names… except one that’s already the name of an OPI nailpolish

    • lauren 12/21/2010 at 9:23 pm #

yup, bastille my heart is a red color for OPI.

    • ModCloth 12/22/2010 at 6:07 pm #

Ooh, thanks for the tip, ladies! We weren’t aware of that, and are going to look into the situation now.

  17. Lauren 12/21/2010 at 8:04 pm #

    I <3 puns

  18. Samantha 12/21/2010 at 9:02 pm #

Those are precious. Confectionately Yours…so cute.

  19. Maya 12/21/2010 at 9:09 pm #

I think the whole pun thing is cute, but it’s been taken a little too far…

  20. Amanda 12/21/2010 at 9:31 pm #

Guys, without puns what else is there for naming clothes???

  21. Andrea M 12/21/2010 at 10:43 pm #

These are cute names, but I’m going to have to agree with what some of the others have said: I’m getting kind of sick of seeing nothing but puns!

  22. Carissa 12/21/2010 at 11:27 pm #

Adorable names! I especially love the sequined to none :D I think the puns are adorable lol

  23. Violet 12/22/2010 at 12:11 am #

yay cute names but I don’t really get the last one, and gee whiz it must take forever to read all those thousands of entries. I do quite like the puns but since the winners are ALWAYS puns I feel like I shouldn’t submit anything that’s not a pun :/

  24. Janell 12/22/2010 at 2:12 am #

    puns puns puns! blerg.

  25. Amber Lynn 12/22/2010 at 7:50 am #

    I am disappoint.

  26. Victoria 12/22/2010 at 12:14 pm #

I really don’t want to sound like a sore loser because someone’s gotta win and these are cute! But Bastille My Heart is a pretty well-known name of an OPI nail polish. I think it’s pretty low of whoever entered it to do so, and a very unfair of ModCloth to choose it.

    • ModCloth 12/22/2010 at 6:09 pm #

Hi Victoria! Thanks for the tip—we weren’t aware it was an OPI polish color, and are looking into the situation now.

  27. Samantha 12/22/2010 at 12:15 pm #

Puns Puns Puns! Too many puns on Modcloth! I shouldn’t have even submitted anything, none of mine were puns, because I thought you guy were looking for something other then puns, but I should have known yu weren’t. Almost everything on here is a pun. All well.

  28. Amanda 12/22/2010 at 12:27 pm #

I don’t know why everyone is yammering about the puns! That’s what Modcloth does! It’s their brand! And I see nothing wrong with that. No one seems to have a problem with the fact that Delia*s names all of their stuff with cutesie girlie names, for instance. What’s the big deal? It’s branding.

    • Molly 12/22/2010 at 1:03 pm #

      Hear, hear!

  29. Stacy 12/22/2010 at 12:31 pm #

    Wow. Don’t be a sore loser :(

  30. Amanda 12/22/2010 at 2:25 pm #

These are all great, I especially love the “bow and behold” one! Such creative ladies :]

  31. Bri 12/22/2010 at 7:22 pm #

favorite name: Be Still My Heart Dress
    <3

  32. Megan 12/22/2010 at 10:07 pm #

Awesome names! I don’t know how you picked from all the great choices you had. Thanks for letting us play! (BTW, ladies, sour grapes are really not that attractive. Just sayin’)

  33. groovyK 12/22/2010 at 10:27 pm #

Oh I *love* ‘Confectionately Yours’! It makes the dress look even sweeter!

  34. Flora 12/23/2010 at 10:27 am #

Puns! Puns! How I love them so! I love playing this game, it’s so exciting to see everyone’s take on the dress or whatever and then wait and see if Modcloth chooses you! It’s exciting!

  35. Liz 12/24/2010 at 1:56 pm #

Thanks ModCloth for putting on this shindig :) I had a ton of fun with it! I, too, love the puns; I come on everyday just to see the new arrivals and their cute names…LOVE EM! :D Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!!

  36. PK 12/24/2010 at 8:09 pm #

“Be still My Heart” and “Bastille My Heart” are two different names. I don’t think there was anything unfair in play here.

    • Molly 12/24/2010 at 11:05 pm #

They changed it from “Bastille” to “Be Still” after people brought the issue to ModCloth’s attention

  37. Reya 12/25/2010 at 12:41 am #

Love the first two names! Very cute; wish I had come up with something as creative. However, I do distinctly remember Day 3’s dress as “Bastille My Heart” at first. While I think the rest of the names fit their respective dresses, I have to agree a little with Victoria. Oh well.

Congrats to the winners and Merry Christmas, everyone!
