The Future of Fashion

I’d like to say something genius about this video because it makes me all sorts of delighted, but really, it stands on its own, no upstart’s comments needed.

Instead, I’ll ask you a question. Now that you’ve seen these 1930s-era hypotheses and have weighed in on the iconic style of 2000-2010 in our “Dresses Through the Decades” post, where do you imagine fashion will take us in the new decade that’s about to thunder into our world like a friendly Zeus-ian lightening bolt? Enlighten us with your precocious predictions!

Wow! Is this video really from the 1930s or just a silly current video?

Wow, is that video really from the 1930s?

LOL, I love how they always thought everything from the future would be all techie and savvy! Even though we keep going back to vintage fashion!

Haha I know, right? Though, I can’t say I mind this retro revival we have going on!

I don’t know about you guys, but I think I could find a comparative modcloth piece for every one of those ideas…

I think they hit it pretty much on the nose. Lady Gaga, anyone? :)

I absolutely love this. My favorite is the headlight on the head, and the guy’s fasion. Also love RachelC’s lady gaga comment.

Common, every day fashion has become more and more casual over the years and I see that probably continuing. Older styles will continue to come back, then fade once more then come back again. Fashion, like most things, is cyclical in nature.

I love this! They weren’t all that far off, actually. We do carry phones in our clothing, after all. And the temperature of our environment is artifically controlled (air con, anyone?). And the skirt is no longer compulsory. Mesh netting is an acceptable form of clothing (at least in night clubs). Now, if I could only get my hands on that electric belt ;)

Candy for cuties! Ha! I love this. You totally forget we
are supposed to be flying around in hovercrafts by now, until you
    see something like this.
