Dresses to Remember: Louise Richardson's Garment Art

Each new day brings a new online obsession, with today’s crush being artist Louise Richardson’s ethereal dresses. The Norwich School of Art and Design grad’s otherworldly, mixed media garments and sculptures revolve around the themes of storytelling, memory, and identity, especially that of untold stories.

See more of Richardson’s dreamy pieces on her Flickr! My favorite dress of this bunch is the first one with the butterflies—what about you?

About Jenn

Jenn's first career aspiration was to be a dinosaur. After her kindergarten teacher informed her that couldn't happen, she decided she would be the next best thing: a writer. Aside from writing, Jenn loves chambray shirts, all cacti, and good typography.

Do you happen to know of any similar artists based in the United States? I’m an intern at a Smithsonian affiliate museum, and I’ve been researching artists who use dresses/clothes in their work. Any suggestions?
