Candy Land: Laura Manfre’s Sweet Illustrations

“The Inflatable Donuts” by Laura Manfre.

We’re getting a major sugar rush from French artist Laura Manfre‘s wonderfully kooky, color-soaked illustrations, which combine summer sweets, charming retro ensembles, and a sprinkling of surrealism to create a fantasy world where kids swim in donut floaties and ride around on banana split boats. Unsurprisingly, Manfre says most of her work is inspired by “vintage kids books, food, and Magritte.”

About Jenn

Jenn's first career aspiration was to be a dinosaur. After her kindergarten teacher informed her that couldn't happen, she decided she would be the next best thing: a writer. Aside from writing, Jenn loves chambray shirts, all cacti, and good typography.

These are adorable. And, they’re making me hungry. Fortunately brunch potluck is in T-minus 1.5 hours!
