Searching for summer decoration inspiration? Look no further than this post! Watch our video tutorial on how to create colorful accents that will spiff up your indoor space or add flair to your outdoor festivities. We used them to create a fun and beautiful backdrop in our latest stylebook, “Seize the Summer.”
For all three projects, you’ll need scissors, so get our your fave pair of snippers!
What you’ll need for the flag banners…
- Felt, different colors
- Twine
- Iron-on fusion tape
- Iron
While flag banners like these can be made from paper, muslin, or knitted yarn, I chose felt because it’s sturdy, doesn’t fray when cut, and, at only 50 cents per 8×10 swatch, is easy on your wallet.
What you’ll need for the candle holders…
- Clean mason jars
- Tissue paper, different colors
- Clear drying glue
- A small paint brush
When you’re ready for candles, make these glow with citronella or lavender scented candles so uninvited bugs will be deterred from crashing your party.
What you’ll need for the yarn poofs…
- Cardboard
- Yarn
These poofs crack me up! You can string poofs together with a darning needle and one long length of yarn to create whimsical garland.
Will you try your hand at these DIY projects? What are some of your favorite summer craft projects?
