A Fantastic Trip Around Frankfurt with Hypnotized

It was good being stateside for a bit, but it’s time to grab your passport and suitcase, because for this edition of Travel Bug, we’re jetting over to Frankfurt, Germany!

The city of Frankfurt is known for many things — its jagged, futuristic skyline, its status as a financial hub, its world-famous Frankfurt Book Fair and Auto Show — and there are enough museums, historic sites, and events to keep any tourist busy for days. Between trips to Goethe’s birthplace and a riverside stroll, though, you’ll want to know where to eat, shop, and unwind. We asked locals Helena and Laura of the blog Hypnotized for tips on where to start.

On the left, Helena wears the Pleasant and Thank You Dress and Chai Chai Again Top. Meanwhile, Laura wears the Mute Button Top and Impression Your Friends Skirt with the Timed Race Watch Necklace.

1. Epiphany. “Definitely the best vintage shop in Frankfurt. The owner, My, opened the shop in May 2011, so the shop is brand new! The clothes are just amazing and the prices are cheap, so we’re sure that everybody will find a beautiful piece.”

2. Café Maingold. “Only 100 meters away from Epiphany is Café Maingold. The furniture is so lovely… there are big sofas that are so comfortable it’s unbelievable. The food and drinks are great too. We love to visit on Saturday or Sunday mornings to have breakfast!”

3. Pulse & Vogue. “If you are searching for beautiful clothes in Frankfurt, we have a secret tip for you: Only three minutes away from Germany’s biggest shopping street, the ‘Zeil’ in Frankfurt, is the wonderful shop Pulse & Vogue. There, you’ll find great labels like Acne, Gestuz, and more, so visiting is a MUST!”

4. The Bar Without a Name. “You may not believe it, but this bar hasn’t got a name. Everybody just calls it ‘The Bar Without a Name.’ Although the bar doesn’t have a name, it has a nice motto: ‘Good food and drinks for good people.’ The bar is perfect when you want to spend a nice evening in Frankfurt. The drinks are tasty, and we especially love the sandwiches with tomato and mozzarella. In the evening, there is a DJ and the atmosphere is amazing.”

Who else wants to go to Frankfurt now? Have you ever been to Frankfurt? If so, what would you add to their list?

Frankfurt sounds really interesting! It’s never been on my To-Go list but maybe it should find it’s way there. Would love to do one of these on Cape Town for you!
