For British blogger Shirley of Meek~n~Mild, blogging is just a hobby, but you certainly wouldn’t think that from visiting her blog, which is full of to-die-for outfits. This ambitious gal is getting a degree in mathematics, and wants to continue on to become an aeronautical engineer. You’re getting your degree in mathematics, right? What would your dream career be?
My dream career would be an aeronautical engineer. I love the mechanics of aircrafts, and have been since I was a child. I’m hoping to pursue a Masters in Engineering when I’m finished with my degree in Mathematics.
In your bio, you said you have an unhealthy obsession with Starbucks — what’s your favorite beverage?
Yes indeed I do! My favorite has to be chocolate cream Frappucinos on hot summer days, and hazelnut hot chocolate in the winter!
Any tips for bloggers like you who are balancing schoolwork and blogging? How do you manage your time?
You have to be very organized, but, most of all, prioritize. Blogging is like a hobby, it should be enjoyed in your spare time.
You seem to borrow some clothes from your mother’s wardrobe. Do you think she’s influenced your look?
My mum is a very stylish lady, and she really does influence my look. I love going through her old things and finding vintage gems I can incorporate into my wardrobe. She doesn’t mind as she often borrows my things, too.
You’re kind of a chameleon; it seems like you can pull of every silhouette, trend, and color. Do you have any tips for pulling off any look?
[Laughs] Thanks! I don’t really know. I guess it all depends on how I’m feeling when I wake up. I tend to dress up based on my mood; if i feel girlie I pick a dress or skirt, or if I feel edgy, I opt for a leather jacket or killer heels.
What blogs do you follow for inspiration?
I love Andy from Style Scrapbook, Ashley from Ring My Bell, Alix from The Cherry Blossom Girl, Betty from Le Blog de Betty, and Carrie from WishWishWish. They all have different styles, but are a huge inspiration to me! They were the first few style blogs I followed.
