We’re currently spinning the old-soul, new-school tunes of the Leftover Cuties, and here’s why: Let’s start with Shirli, the leading lady of the band — one listen and you’ll feel like you’re kickin’ it back in the days of Billie Holiday — swoon! Take a glance at the group, and you’ll notice Shirli accompanied by a handful of dapper dudes. Her ‘cutie’ crew, ranging from a ukulele player to a multi-musician maestro, gives LC the sassy, retro-soul sound that is sure to make them one heck of a breakthrough band.
From the LA-region, Leftover Cuties’ first LP, Places to Go is well on its way to going somewhere great with the likes of Tony Berg as the producer (Bob Dylan, anyone?) and having one of their tunes featured as theme song for the Showtime series, “The Big C.”
See their song, “Places to Go” in action in one of our swiftest stylebooks to date, Bicycle Belles. And if you really love what you hear, get your music ‘fix-ie’ by downloading it for free while taking a listen to a few more of their songs on the player below!
