Twiggy-inspired Mod Makeup in 4 Steps

If you love Twiggy’s iconic eye makeup (which just so happened to be a huge inspiration for model Mary’s look in our latest stylebook, Bicycle Belles), we encourage you to try your hand at recreating the style with our straightforward photo guide. Simply follow the steps below for a retro-inspired beauty style that’s fun, fresh, and oh-so fashionable.

1. Apply a neutral shadow to the upper eyelid to create a nice even base. Using a rounded mini dome brush, apply dark shadow to the crease of your upper eyelid.

2. Use an angled brush to apply black eyeliner along the upper lash line.

3. Apply individual fake eyelashes to your upper and lower lash lines. Tip: Add longer lashes to the top lash line!

4. Apply a final swipe of black mascara to your upper lash line, and ta da!

Great tip. It’s always so tempting to swipe dark shadow across the whole lid when going for a dramatic look. This is a good example of how less really can be more.

Awesome! I’ll definitely be utilizing this look in the nearest future :)

On a side note: LOVE the nail color of the makeup artist.

From the picture it looks like either Essie: Mink Muffs or OPI for Sephora: Metro Chic. Hope this helps!

There are much better cat-eye tutorials available on youtube. This is one of my favorites: http://youtu.be/seQweeWvKFw

They aren’t doing the cat-eye, they’re doing a 60′s mod / Twiggy look! Totally different. But I agree – Lauren gives some great make-up tutorials.
