No time to stop home for a full ensemble swap before your evening event? No worries! Add a flash of flavor to your work wardrobe by creating a mini ‘cubicle closet’ stocked with multifunctional fashion pieces that will make freshening up for the evening easy. With the help of ModStylists Jess, Nicole, and Mandy, we’ll show you how to present yourself professionally while preserving your personal style — even when your agenda doesn’t allow for an at-home outfit change.

The 5 Pieces to Have On Hand at the Office:

1. Sheer Layer such as theFeather Your Best Top
2. Sparkly Hair Accessory, such as the String of Sparklers Headband
3. Bright Lip, such as the A Kiss of Glam Lipstick in Red
4. Statement Heels, such as the High Classy Heel
5. Bold Necklace, such as the Statement of the Art Necklace

Not sure how to style them? Breathe easy, business-savvy beauties. Here are three ways to rock ’em both in and out of the office…

Look 1: Launch Party Pretty

For a polished-yet-lively look that caters to creative professionals, take tips from ModStylist Jess! Swap solid tights for ones in a playful print, and add funky accessories such as the String of Sparklers Headband, a chain-link bag, and attachable belt tassel. Finally, a neutral pair of shoes with neon accents like the High Classy Heel can be worn day to night, as its edgy color is subtle enough for daytime meetings.

Look 2: Margaritas with Work Pals

Cocktails with coworkers is your chance to: a) Show you’re type of employee who’s able to maintain an air of professionalism even after the clock hits five, and b) Give your team a peek of your personal taste. Nicole pairs the sheer Feather Your Best Top with a solid blouse, fitted pencil skirt, oversized clutch, and the Statement of the Art Necklace for a good time with the gang.

Look 3: Meet & Greets

Mandy makes a friendly first impression as she mingles with other folks from other start-ups by hanging up her blazer and handbag to keep her palms free for collecting business cards. By adding the A Kiss of Glam Lipstick in Red to her pout and dressing up her floral frock with the Statement of the Art Necklace, she’s successfully transitioned into an ensemble that makes her appear approachable and put-together.

Don’t forget: Just because your job requires you to dress conservatively doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with fashion within office walls. You’ll feel at ease if you’re comfortable in your clothes, resulting in a more confident you that both peers and managers will pick up on!

Great ideas! I think another staple should be a blazer. You can wear it with anything and get your desired look whether its office, date, or event specific. Check out the different ways to wear a blazer.
