Name: Jasper
Age: 5
Breed: Domestic longhair
To end the week on a sweet note, we figured it was fitting to feature Jasper, the feline friend of Assistant Producer Anna. This spunky cat is a diva and a night owl, and spends most of her evenings playing, hunting, and running around the house in a hyper frenzy. That isn’t to say that Jasper doesn’t have her sweet moments, says Anna. “She totally has a sixth sense for when you’re having a bad day, and will come and snuggle up with you and purr.” Jasper’s favorite hangout is her kittie house, and can be found there often. “I think she thinks it’s her secret lair,” says Anna.
As for the origin of Jasper’s name? All the result of a funny mistake. Anna says that when she adopted the three-month-old Jasper, the pet store told her the cat was a boy. A trip to the vet then revealed otherwise. “The vet [told] his assistant to write down ‘sex change’ on Jasper’s charts,” says Anna. “I stood there, thinking, ‘My cat has not gotten a sex change! She’s been a girl all along, people!’”
If you’re lucky enough to meet Jasper in person, lean in close. “If you get close enough to her, she’ll bop her nose on yours for a kitty kiss!”

2 loves
That’s my girl ;)!
Awww. What a sweetie!
I recently did a blog post too about my kitty Pea ^_^
awe… what a cutie!
did you know that nose-to-nose touches are one of the ways cats use body language to communicate? it’s really adorable! i did a little post about it on my blog: http://puppylovepreschool.blogspot.com/2010/01/kitty-communication-meet-greets.html
My cat’s name is also Jasper, hes black and white.
I too have a cat with that name only I spell it Jazpurr because I wanted to be able to call him Jaz, after my favorite music, and the “purr” part just came naturally after that. He loves other cats, so I’m sure he’d like to bop noses with your girl.
