We love to hear feedback from our favorite designers, and this inspiring update is definitely one worth sharing! In April, my fellow blog writer, Erin, wrote a post about new-to-ModCloth designer Mata Traders and explained why supporting fair trade practices is both ethically responsible and stylishly smart.
Although, it never hurts to hear some solid proof of its good-doings! Check out what Mata Traders‘ Creative Director had to say about your contributions, below.
“Your re-order of dresses employed a unit of talented women in a village outside of Kathmandu. They were incredibly excited and proud of their work, and when they finished the order, they wanted more of it to do! The goal that we strive for is making fair trade competitive with factory-made brands, and ModCloth’s orders this year are helping us attain that. I just wanted you to know how you all are connected to this process. Thanks a lot!”
– Maureen Dunn, Creative Director of Mata Traders

ROCKING!
I am so excited to hear about this. Mata has been one of my favorite brands, and to be able to get their clothes and jewelry with ModCloth service is the best of both worlds. It’s also been great to see other people’s feedback and see other people loving their stuff as much as I do. Shopping ethically can become almost a full time job; thanks for carrying them and making it that much easier!
Oh, and thanks for the fair trade category!
