Hello, Good Pie: Bike Basket Pie’s Yummy New Cookbook

San Francisco pie-by-bike delivery service, Bike Basket Pies, ended its run in June, but if you’re already missing baker Natalie Galatzer’s cheery deliveries, or just want in on tastebud-tripping flavors like Apple Kiwi or Shaker Lemon, you can rejoice in the soon-to-come release of her new recipe booklet, Bike Basket Pies: How to Make Handheld Pies for Bicycle Delivery.

Galatzer started the one-woman operation two years ago as a fun side project and watched it grow into a legitimate business, with her churning out anywhere from 80 to 100 mini pies a day. Though she’s since hung up her helmet, you can still enjoy the sweet and savory goodness with her self-published booklet, which features 14 seasonal recipes along with adorable illustrations by local comic book artist, Minty Lewis.

If you’re in the Bay Area, there’s a chance you can squeeze into her book release party tonight at cooking haven, Pot + Pantry. The event is, of course, BYOPie.

I don’t know what is more tempting, getting the pie recipes or the adorable illustrations. I think I need this book so I can spread joy by delivering delicious pies whenever I ride my bike.
