Our first ever design contest was a smashing success, and we have you to thank for it! We received thousands of your superb sketches, and you diligently voted for all your faves on Facebook. Now, it’s time to announce the Make the Cut Contest champs!

Our five Facebook fan-voted victors are: Cassie L. Thompson (a), Maria Catalono (b), Hannah Yung (c), Kacey Durbin Shapiro (d), and Nicole Parker (e)! But, that’s not all — there were so many exceptional entries that Susan simply had to add two of her top picks to the winners’ circle, as well! And, those felicitous prizewinners are Tyger Alexis (f), and Liz Callahan (g)!
Congratulations to you all! And, just in case you forgot, here’s a recap of the posh prizes you’ll receive: $500 cash, production and a sample of your piece — with your name on the tag — and, last but not least, your garment will be sold right here on ModCloth.
Thanks so much to everyone who participated! And, if you’re itching to add the winners’ incredible items to your wardrobe, then don’t forget to be on the lookout for them in Spring 2012.

Congrats to all the finalists and winners!
So glad Liz Callahan’s dress made the cut! It’s beautiful.
I agree. Her design is beautiful!
Ditto that! I absolutely adore that dress… can’t wait to see what it as an actual dress!
I’m disappointed that I didn’t make it, but some of these dresses are lovely and definitely belong on Modcloth. Congrats! I told myself if Modcloth wouldn’t make mine I’d make them myself, which I intend to do now.
That’s exactly what I’m planning to do! I don’t think my designs were even looked at because I didn’t have to correct parent consent stuff, but there’s always a next time, right!?
What a great contest. It was really fun to see all the different ideas!! The talent was inspiring. Looking forward to seeing these on the site!
These are lovely. I hope they’ll be available in plus sizes.
Gorgeous, all of them! :) I especially love A, E and G.
I can’t wait to get C, G, and E, but I looove C <3

So glad Tyger’s dress made it! I’ll be on the look out for her dress :)
Love that dress!
Yay congrats everyone. I absolutely love E – so beautiful – the njeckline is awesome. Also love G is not too short!
I think all these dresses are beautiful, but not a huge fan of A. Still, congrats to all the winners.
Wow! Please make G vegan! I would LOVE to wear that one.
I think you have a typo with Hannah’s last name! It’s Yung, not Young.
Oh no, our bad! Thanks for the catch, ESC!
I think Maria’s last name also has a typo, fyi!
Congrats to all of the winners! Love Liz and Maria’s dresses and can’t wait to see them sold!
I’m really looking forward to C, E, and G! Especially E!
Congratulations to all of them. My favorites are C, E, and G but everyone did a great job.
Congrats to the winners, especially to Susan’s additional choices since that must have been a lovely surprise for them. And thanks to Modcloth for holding the contest. I had a great time coming up with my designs, even if I did end up getting clobbered in the community vote. And good luck to Rachel; I’ve been seriously considering doing the same. I hope some of the other contestants also take their designs to the next step.
congratulations to everyone! absolutely love f, cannot wait to purchase!
Thanks, Susan, for giving my dress your vote! And thanks for the opportunity to have my design included among so many beautiful outfits in this contest.
All the dresses were beautiful! I can’t wait for A, C, and G to come out!
They’re all lovely, but G is definitely the best- can’t wait til it’s produced!

Looking forward especially to E!
More design contests, please! Like millinery, maybe? Or shoes?
My favorites range like this, G, C, F, B, D, E and then A. Good job everyone and can’t wait until they are developed and able to be purchased!
How do the winners claim their prizes?
i was curious about the same :) i hadn’t heard anything yet but i also know this time of the year has probably been hectic!
Tyger, I think on the official rules page they said that we would receive a follow up email 7-14 days after the winners were announced or something. I haven’t gotten anything yet, have you?
nope, not yet. glad to hear i’m not alone ;)
any updates?
Nope, not yet!
Anyone received an email yet?
Nope – glad I’m not the only one, I kept fearing it was going into junkmail or something!
I figure with the holidays, there are bound to be delays with this type of thing.
Wow some really beautiful work by the winner! I can’t wait till the become available. I can see myself buying D. I hope we have another contest like this soon. I would love to participate.
Any updates?
Updates, anyone?
i got an email a few weeks ago with a few updates on where they were at in the process of it all. but havnt heard anything since. im so anxious to know what’s going on and what stage they are on with the designs :)
Does anyone know if these have been made yet? :)
Does anyone know if Nicole Parker sells any of her items in other places. I love Modcloth but they sell out very quickly. Does she maybe sell on Etsy or take custom orders?
