If you and your work are feelin’ the midweek slump, we recommend giving your imagination an energy boost by perusing the super creative blog Ten Paces and Draw. This artist-run site will kick your right hemisphere into high gear, with collaborative features in which one illustrator finishes the sketch of a fellow artist (example above), and — my favorite — “Illustrated Mixtapes,” which ask artists to base a work off of a song, such as Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy is Mine.” Ten Paces also offers illuminating posts on the process behind individual illustrations, artist interviews, and freebie art.
Feeling as inspired as we are right now? High five! Now, go forth and create!
