One of the things — well, many things — I love about the internet is how fantastically easy it is to discover music. One minute you’re browsing a random site, and the next, you’re jamming to a new favorite band. Lately, I’ve been spinning the heavy pop tunes of recent find Meligrove Band, a Canadian four-piece whose upbeat songs call to mind memories of carefree, sun-soaked summers and just having fun. Their catchy melodies ride on the waves of your standard band instruments — guitar, bass, drums, piano, and synth — but you’ll also catch hints of violins, organs, and brass.
Catch the band on tour this month, as they play with The Bicycles and Toyko Police Club.

They sound really good, but FYI It’s Tokyo Police Club, not Hotel. (They’re kind of my favorite band.)
Oof. Thank you for catching that, Sydney! Not sure how that slipped into there — “Tokyo Police Hotel” sounds totally ridiculous, haha.
I’ve been listening to salsa, it keeps my spirits up and makes me want to move. This group reminds me of a band from the 60s. Like I should be swaying on the lawn wearing a maxi dress, have a flower in my hair, either barefoot or in sandals.
I liked this music video of theirs, http://youtu.be/pRbQZzTVUjw
