Hi, gals! It’s me, Tieka of Selective Potential! I’m back from Austin (and finally rested up!) after a fun-filled weekend, where I attended several events for the Texas Style Council Conference, which was put on by Indiana of Adored Austin. It included a clothing swap, mentoring breakfast, boutique crawl, party, and social media symposium. Phew!
At the swap party, each attendee brought two items to trade. I walked away with a cute polka dot dress and an open-back floral dress! Score!
At the mentoring breakfast, there were several speakers that you could talk to on a variety of topics — from blogging 101, blogging over 30, Etsy success, maintaining individuality, scary legal stuff, and who to avoid blogger burnout.
Several of us braved the cold rain to hit a few boutiques along South Congress! Some of my favorites included Prototype and Feathers.

For the posh party, there were several booths you could check out! ModCloth hosted a “Name It And Win It” contest. I loved the mini cupcakes and the outdoor airstream photo booth.
The social media symposium was a fun day of learning! We explored how to make an impact in our local communities, be informative, trusted, and write with originality. I loved leading a workshop with Turi of ModCloth on how brands work with bloggers!
All in all, I had a blast at the Texas Style Council Conference and would definitely head back again next year! Did any of you attend? If so, what was your favorite part of the trip?
