Dressing cycle chic seems to be second nature to San Franciscans, especially around Bike to Work Day in the Bay Area! In honor of this May 10 event, we asked street style blogger Mai, of Fashionist, to snap some of the city’s most stylish cyclists.

I never thought of wearing anything specific for bike riding, but these are all great and make total sense!
Come check out the Bellini I made that would be great for Mother’s Day.

Cute roundup! I’m terrified of riding my bike in NYC, but this was still great inspiration. :-)

Inspiring!
I love coming across other street style photographers! My beautiful friend Marcelle is one of the people you found. <3 http://www.ammophotogstreet.wordpress.com
It’s great to see some people looking trendy cycling! Where I live in Canberra, Australia, there is less of a cycling culture except among the hardcore cyclists and no one’s going to claim that their full-body-lycra outfits are a fashion win! I think the lack of casual cyclists is partly because Canberra is a very spread-out city, and partly because we have mandatory helmet laws enforced by fines (and many people don’t like having to deal with helmet hair when they travel). So all these healthy-looking trendy people with their bicycles are a refreshing sight!
