As you all proved in our latest Name It & Win It, you are truly masters in all matters of fashion and wordplay. After filing through thousands of A+ entries, we’re pleased to reveal the five names that will join the official roster of ModCloth names!
The winners are…
Blog – Fine Hearts Student Dress by Alexa K.
Twitter – Lost in Austin Dress by @giantspatula
Facebook – Live, Love, Lavender Dress by Erin C.
Instagram – La Di Dots Dress by @goldblerg
Tumblr – Get Up and Gossamer Dress by Faesaurus
Congratulations to our winners, and thank you all so much for playing!
Since this was our first time trying multiple platforms, we’d love to know –- what did you think?

7 loves
Athough I didn’t win, I still loved this contest! It was fun and interactive. I liked coming up with random creative names for each dress.
I’m just wondering, did Erin C. answer before I did at 3:29pm on facebook? Because I had the same answer but she won :(
I totally agree with you!! I hope ModCloth has more of these contests in the future!!
I agree too even though I would have loved to win it was pretty fun.
didnt win but it was still a lot of fun
The “Name It and Win It” contests are always my favorite, not only do you get to stretch your creative legs, but it is also an exercise in thinking the Modcloth way (what would Modcloth name this garment?) In regards to the different social platforms, I liked the variety, although I felt that it was a little disjointed and felt that the tumblr and instagram were the hardest to get involved in, however it was great fun!
Thank you so much, ModCloth! This was super fun!
The winning names are great. Kudos to the lucky ducks who won dresses! Nice job!
I loved getting my creative juices flowing. There some great names from what I read. I agree that Instagram and Tumblr were a little harder to get involved, but overall loved the contest.
i like contests too…they’re fun, even if you don’t win, but i gave up at twitter…i just totally do not get twitter. i don’t really think i understand how it works, and i don’t find it appealing enough to try to figure it out. when i went on, i just saw a list of seemingly random posts, and i couldn’t find an image of the day’s dress. o well!?!
Hi Debra, once you were on Twitter you had to type in #niawi.
Not to be a sore loser, but I actually tweeted “Lost in Austin” before @giantspatula… love, @imadeajess
Have always loved your dresses…and the chance to help name one was great!! Thanks!!
oh man I loved my name on twitter but I realize that I don’t think it made it in cause I have never used twitter before! I even made an account just for the contest!
I loved this contest….congrats to the winners! :)
That dress is not Lavender.
I agree, but what color best discribes it?
Blue, lol. I bought it – and it’s definitely baby blue.
Yeah, doesn’t look lavender on my screen :(
Thank you ModCloth for the creative interlude my brain needed! I was just telling a friend how fun it would be to have a job naming these dresses and the next week was your contest! It was worth signing up for the various social media sites, I had fun learning about them. Instagram is so fun for photos! Please put on another name it contest!
Wow! I can’t believe my name was picked on Tumblr! How do you guys get my shipping and sizing information though? Will an ask be sent on there?
Hi, Fae! We sent you a Tumblr message on Thursday, but will send you an e-mail ASAP so you can get your dress. Congrats on your win, and thanks so much for playing!
Really? Huh, tumblr’s messaging system is known for being buggy sometimes so I never got it! Haha, alrighty, thank you!
Did we have to publicly post our names for the dresses on facebook, twitter, etc? I only posted in the entry form. …
I think that the Fine Hearts Student Dress was a poor choice….There were far better posts to name this dress..
I didn’t like the different platforms. I only did the blog day because I couldn’t find the Facebook entry or the Twitter entry and I use both of those programs regularly. Next time, I vote keep it to the blog comments!
I loved this idea! Unfortunately I didn’t see the blog post until Thursday so only had the chance to do Tumblr, as opposed to that plus the blog and Facebook, but I think the different social media gives everyone some chance at least! I would definitely participate again!
I also haven’t received any e-mails or notifications about the dress I won. Will I be e-mailed about the sizing and shipping information? How does this work?
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t understand what ‘Fine Hearts Student Dress’ means? Not trying to be a sore loser, I’m genuinely curious.
It’s a sound and a visual pun on a fine arts student.
By the way, I’m not the same Alexa as the person who won, hahaha, just happened to have the same name!
