My favorite thing about place-based poems is how they have the ability to evoke images of landscapes you may have never seen before. In reading them, we invent interpretations that are uniquely our own, and there’s something supernatural about that. Whether or not you’ve been to the Big Apple, or crossed the country on a whim, why not take a little literary trip with us via these away-we-go quotes?

If only photos could capture such magic. Do you keep a journal when you travel?

I certainly do! I love keeping record of all of the unique things I get to try and do. Great quotes!
O’Hara and Hicok! Two of my favorites! (:

I’m glad you enjoyed them, ladies! They just make you want to curl up with some books outdoors this weekend, don’t they?
Absolutely love these. SO inspiring. They’re giving me major wanderlust. Ugh, these are just too cool – combining prettiness and poetry so well.
I kept a journal once when we went on a road trip across the country to visit family. I didnt write many entries but I found the journal and read through it, some good memories I’d forgotten. The poems made me remember them again.
Kalia, that’s so cool to hear! I bet it was like meeting up with a distant friend!
