Fashions come and go, but style icons never fade. Starting on 7/24 at 11 a.m. PT, we’re holding a style icon contest on Pinterest to honor fearlessly stylish females from over the decades! Create a board conceptualizing the life and style of a bygone-era icon that you adore, and you could be one of five to win a $50 ModCloth gift certificate, plus a copy of the “Forever Marilyn” Blu-ray collection!
To enter, title your board “ModCloth Style Icon of the Times Contest,” then add a description that notes the name and era of your style icon. Your completed board should consist of 10 – 20 pins that encompass the life and look of your style icon, and why you find them to be an inspiration. Make sure to re-pin the contest pin, and to pin to your board at least three ModCloth items that you think would fit into your style icon’s closet. In each pin’s caption, include a small description along with the hashtags #styleicon and #modcloth. Then, when your board is perfect, share it with us by posting it as a link in a comment on the original contest announcement pin, located in our “Ladies We Love” board.

- Contest begins 7/24 at 11 a.m. PT, and ends 7/29 at 4 p.m. PT.

- Only one entry board per person.
- Boards will be judged based on uniqueness, creativity, ModCloth spirit, and adherence to the guidelines.

How old do you have to be?
do the 10-20 pins include pins from mod cloth? Does the board have to contain 20 photos max, or just 20 photos of the icon and then however many pins of mod cloth items?

I am having issues with my board disappearing. On my second attempt at creating the board, it suddenly disappeared again with three pins to go. Now I am unable to pin anything to it because the board title is missing from my board options after I press “pin it”. I dug some and noticed that Pinterest has received other complaints of this happening, and that they hope to resolve it by….yesterday : (. But mine is still not resolved: (. I suppose I will just have to wait and see if my board will suddenly reappear before the contest deadline. Just thought I would bring this to attention in case someone else is experiencing these issues as well. PS I really enjoy these kind of contests, they are fun to create as well as to see what others have created!

Yes, this also happened to me. I came on here to see whether I could find out what the problem is. Are other new boards disappearing or just the ModCloth contest ones?

you can get to the board by going to your personal page and finding the pins from that board……..i think its some weird pinterest glitch
I just made a third attempt, and it worked! I went to my activity stream and repinned my own pins onto a new board. Where my first two boards are I may never know : ) Best wishes to all!

Hello! I have created my board and would like to submit it, however I am having trouble following ModCloth on Pinterest. I have tried all day, I’ve tried restarting my computer and browser, logging out and back in, and no luck. When I click “follow”, it acts as though I have successfully followed ModCloth, but then when I refresh the page it says I am not following ModCloth, and am following 0 people. I’m not sure what I should do…any help would be greatly appreciated!
Pinterest has been having a bug the last couple days. We won’t hold any bugs or issues against our entrants. Hopefully it’s fixed soon!

I would assume so, as that wouldn’t really be withing the guidelines.
