Quote of the Day: Neil Gaiman on Mistakes

Neil Gaiman quote, designed by ModCloth!

After hearing English author Neil Gaiman’s commencement speech for this year’s graduating class at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, we couldn’t shake the memory of his words on mistake-making. Our graphic designer Ryan was equally taken by Gaiman’s advice, and fearlessly took on the task of bringing this Quote of the Day to life.

PAST QUOTATIONS:
Quote of the Day: Eileen Caddy on Life
Quote of the Day: Eleanor Roosevelt on To-dos

About Jenn

Jenn's first career aspiration was to be a dinosaur. After her kindergarten teacher informed her that couldn't happen, she decided she would be the next best thing: a writer. Aside from writing, Jenn loves chambray shirts, all cacti, and good typography.

I love this, especially the “mistake” in the type. Keep ‘em coming (quotations, not mistakes).

Neil Gaiman’s commencement speech was awesome! Great quote choice and beautifully designed!

So great, not only the quote but also Neil Gaiman! I think another great quote would be ‘Thanks for the doubt’, by David Bowie… it’s one of the quotes of my life! If people don’t doubt me, I never endeavor to try to do better to show them that ‘I can do it’.

This is really very nice but I can’t help thinking that if you just left the mistake in there and didn’t highlight it, it might work better..?

    I love the “insert e”

  9. laurie August 16, 2012 at 3:06 pm #

That “e” was a nod to his wife’s video of her song “Want It Back”, I think.

And yeah, I second that comment, Tamara…it would make a great poster.
