Any vintage enthusiast can tell you — the appeal of the past has everything to do with loving what is seldom found today. It has to do with the quality of garments, the nostalgia they evoke when you wear them. It seems the long-standing wool textiles and apparel company Pendleton Woolen Mills has embraced such sartorial anthems, while also inviting in modern design, in their recent collaboration with Portland craftspeople Nathaniel Crissman, Rachel Turk, and John Blasioli. The Portland Collection is inspired by century-old pieces they tracked down in Pendleton’s impressive apparel archives, and we’ve got the pics to prove it.

Designers Nathaniel, Rachel, and John looked to Pendleton classics dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s for inspiration. Many of the designs are reflective of the early square designs of those eras since they predate looms that were able to create angular motifs, such as arrows. The result? A collection reflecting the company’s most iconic classics with modern twists. Check them out below!

I have a wonderful vintage wool jacket from Pendleton, I wore it here I absolutely love it it’s exciting to see some new items!
